If you’re a fan of the Yakuza series you’ll be pleased to know that Yakuza 7, in Japan better known as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, will be released for Western markets and will be available on current generation consoles as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, the next-gen version launch currently has no release date and should come a few months after the next-gen hardware launch.

And it won’t be just a simple port… Yakuza: Like A Dragon will feature a full English dub. Sega even revealed the list of the cast voicing the game for Western markets. Kaiji Tang (known for his work on Detective Pikachu and Persona 5) will be voicing the protagonist Ichiban Kasuga. Andrew Morgado, Greg Chun, and Elizabeth Maxwell will lend their voices for his companions Koichi Adachi, Yu Nanba, and Saeko Mukoda respectively. However, the biggest name on this list without a doubt is George Takei who will voice Masumi Arakawa, the main antagonist of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. You may know Goerge from his role in Star Trek.

The new game promises to be a great gateway into the series for new players. Previously almost all Yakuza games had no English dubs with an exception of spin-off game called Judgment. It was released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and was praised by many critics and players for its gameplay and story.

However, many people find the Yakuza series charming because of its original dub. Wherever your preference lies, it’s good to know that you have some options to customize your game. If you want to catch up with the series, be sure to check out our Yakuza game prices.
