Back in March Sea of Thieves celebrated its 1-year anniversary introducing a bunch of cool new stuff to the game. 4 months have passed without any major news, but the latest developer update gave fans of the game plenty of hot topics to talk about, including new adventure event and some potential changes to the PVP Arena mode.

The new adventure for Sea of Thieves will be called Black Powder Stashes. According to the developers, Black Powder Stashes will be a similar set of adventures as previous Reaper’s Run, which gave players a lot of new voyages and related commendations with a unique win condition. However, in a video executive producer Joe Neate said that Black Powder Stashes will include new social dynamics and behavior, which sounds very intriguing.

In addition to a new adventure, Joe Neate also talked a bit about The Arena PVP mode. Currently, the team is testing and experimenting with different ship sizes and gathering feedback for some possible changes in the game. To give players more incentive to join the testing, the developers promised that all doubloons earned over the next weekend will be transferred to their main account.

In addition to all of these features, the new update will include a bunch of bug fixes and some quality of life improvements. The new patch should hit the live server on July 17th.
