Shovel Knight is known by a great number of gamers, and these are not only the fans of the indie scene. The developer Yacht Club Games released its first version of Shovel Knight back in 2011 and since then has added numerous expansions to the indie hit. While their latest, Shovel Knight: Showdown, is scheduled to release in April, the developer also revealed working on another project – a new game titled Cyber Shadow.

According to the official announcement, Cyber Shadow is a 2D side-scrolling platformer which should be some sort of mix between Mario, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, and Batman. Of course, this sounds very weird considering that all the games mentioned above have their own distinctive look and feel, however, don’t strain your thoughts and better watch the trailer:

To be completely fair, Yacht Club Games isn’t the developer of the game in a general sense. According to the announcement, the game was created by Aarne “MekaSkull” Hunziker with the help of Shovel Knight’s sound designer Jake Kaufman. The company will act as a publisher and will take over marketing, porting and business side of Cyber Shadow.

For now, there’s no release date for the new game, but Yacht Club Games confirmed that it’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
