During Friday, Capcom released Resident Evil 2 game’s timed demo on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC simultaneously, giving players a chance to test the remastered survival-horror classic. The timed demo allows you to play the game for an hour and it has instantly accumulated a fair share of audience surpassing one million downloads just over this weekend.

The number was unveiled by Capcom thanks to RE NET tracking service. Having in mind that everyone has an option to be opted out of RE NET the actual number of demo downloads might be even bigger. Also, it’s just the first weekend. Resident Evil 2 One-Shot demo will be available for download until January 31st.

Such player amount is not surprising, having in mind that Resident Evil fans were waiting for this remaster for years. The One-Shot demo features Leon S. Kennedy as he enters the Racoon City Police Department for the first time. Resident Evil 2 was originally released on PlayStation Classic more than two decades ago. The new version of the game features a revamped camera, game controls, and graphics.

Resident Evil 2 launches on January 25th. You can pre-order it on our site.
