Sad news for Nintendo fans across the globe as the long-running Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime announced that he will be retiring in April. After more than 15 years with the company, the ‘Regginator’ will be stepping down and passing his mantle to Doug Bowser, the current senior VP of sales and marketing.

Reggie Fils-Aime has been the Nintendo’s faceman ever since the GameCube era. He inspired countless memes, danced to promote Nintendo products and even coined a phrase ‘My body is ready‘. Reggie oversaw some of Nintendo’s biggest successes, most notably the blockbuster Nintendo Wii as well as the recent Nintendo Switch.

After the news about Reggie’s retirement broke loose, the president shared a heartfelt message to the fans of Nintendo, saying that even though he’s losing the title of a president, he still retains the more important one ‘a fan of Nintendo’.

We wish the best of luck for Regginator in his future affairs. We’ll miss you from the bottom of our hearts!
