Yesterday, the creator of Gran Turismo series Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that his studio, Polyphony Digital, has started working on a new entry into the popular racing game franchise. Apparently, the game will be more like Gran Turismo 6 instead of the most recent series entry, Gran Turismo Sport.

In an interview with GT Planet, Kazunori Yamauchi didn’t reveal the name of the new game but stated that throughout the years the studio learned a whole lot. While Gran Turismo Sport didn’t have a lot of single-player content, the creator stated that in regards to racing and vehicle physics the game finally reached such state that has always been imagined for the title.

According to Yamauchi, the new game in the series will be “a complete form of Gran Turismo” and will feature a combination of elements from the past, present, and future. This might mean that the new entry might offer next-gen racing physics while as well offering tons of content for players who like single-player.

Of course, we have no real information about the release date of a new Gran Turismo, but having in mind that the title is one of the best-known names for PlayStation console, we might expect the game to be released sometime near 2020 holiday season. Our bet is that the new Gran Turismo will be one of the launch titles for PlayStation 5.
