Popcap Games has finally revealed that the studio is working on a new Plants vs. Zombies mobile game. The sequel to the popular tower defense game is now in pre-alpha stage and players can join the testing.

However, you should know a couple of things before joining the fun. Plants vs. Zombies 3 pre-alpha requires a powerful phone in order to play it. According to news, only phones with Android 6.0 or higher are able to run the game.

Currently, there is no information regarding iOS. Additionally, not everyone will be allowed to join the testing. Popcap Games says that at first, pre-alpha version of Plants vs. Zombies 3 will be available to just a handful of players with more being added in waves of additional invites.

Plants vs. Zombies 3 comes almost 6 years after the release of Plants vs. Zombies 2. While the previous game was a good one, the main criticism for it was its monetization. For now, Plants vs. Zombies 3‘s pre-alpha won’t be monetized, but we might expect it to be implemented in the game after the testing phase.

Plants vs. Zombies 3 will be free-to-play and currently is confirmed only for Android devices. No full release date has been given as of now. Oh… and if you’re new, don’t confuse the game with Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare franchize.
