Last weekend Obsidian Entertainment released their new game called Grounded on Steam. While the game is still in the Early Access stage, it proved to be a huge success. According to a Tweet by its developers, Grounded managed to accumulate over 1 million units sold in the first 48 hours.

If you’ve never heard about this game before, you should know that it’s a weird addition to Obsidian’s portfolio. In a game, you assume control of a shrunken teenager and try to survive in your own backyard. The player must fight ants, spiders, and various other “giant” monsters in order to stay alive and build a shelter. Yes, it’s yet another survival game but a fairly unique one considering the setting.

While it’s a wonderful start for the new game, developers are just at the start of their journey. In a video, Game Director Adam Brennecke also shared some details about the future of Grounded. He stated that the game will receive monthly updates and the first one will arrive on August 27th.

Grounded doesn’t take itself too seriously and this might be the reason why so many players decided to give this game a try. It will be interesting to see what the future updates will look like and whether Obsidian Entertainment will manage to keep this good momentum going in the future.
