Blizzard’s collectible card game Hearthstone is getting a lot of new stuff in the coming month. The developers revealed a new expansion for the game called Madness at Darkmoon Faire. It brings spooky cards, a new PvP mode, and a list of achievements for players to earn while playing.

Here’s the official announcement video where developers are taking about new stuff fans of the game to expect:

As always, the new Hearthstone expansion brings a huge list of new cards – 135 in total. Most of these feature a new keyword ‘Corrupt’. These cards will change its host card into substantially more powerful versions after higher-cost cards are played. If you’re interested, be sure to check out the official page for more details.

However, with Madness at Darkmoon, there are a few different additions. First, there’s a new Hearthstone Duels game mode. In Duels, the player will have to choose a Hero, a Hero Power, a starting Treasure, and build a 15-card starter deck from their collection of cards before facing off against a series of human opponents. It feels like a mix of the familiar Arena and Dungeon Run modes. Here’s a short rundown about how it will all work:

Lastly, with Madness at Darkmoon, the developer team is dedicated to revamping the player progression system. Starting on November 12th, players will find a new tab under their profiles which will show achievements earned by the player. Furthermore, Hearthstone will get a new battle-pass-style reward system, offering rewards such as in-game gold, card packs, and cosmetics. Battle Pass rewards will be earned by completing quests, getting achievements, and so on.

It will be interesting to see how this expansion will pan out. Hearthstone players were asking for these changes for quite a while, so it will be interesting to see if the new system will satisfy their needs.

All of these changes mean that it’s a perfect time to join the Hearthstone community even if you haven’t played this game before. Madness at Darkmoon will officially debut on November 17th.
