It looks like more MMORPGs are gearing up for the summer to survive the hype created by the World of Warcraft: Classic. Square Enix, a studio behind another super popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV, has announced yet another game expansion titled Shadowbringers. As you might have already guessed, it will be released in the summer, on July 2nd.

Along with the announcement, Square Enix shared some details about the content of the expansion which had some pleasant surprises. Shadowbringers will bring a variety of new dungeons and include yet another playable race: the rabbit-like Viera, already known to the fans of Final Fantasy XII. The game will also increase its level cap from 70 to 80 and introduce a number of new zones to explore.

Additionally, the developers have revealed one of the new classes called Gunbreaker. From what we saw, Gunbreaker will wield gunblades and will fill the ‘tank’ role.

To round things up, we have to mention a new Alliance raid series. While not many details about this are known yet, it will feature a crossover with Nier: Automata titled YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse.

Pre-order of Shadowbringers will kick off tomorrow. Everyone who has the expansion already purchased will be provided with an exclusive opportunity to access it a few days earlier, starting June 28th. The expansion will launch on PlayStation 4 and PC simultaneously.
