Die-hard fans of the Battlefield series can mark June 9 on their calendars because on this day EA and Dice will reveal more information about the upcoming Battlefield 6 game. The reveal will air at 10 a.m. EDT/7 a.m. PDT. For those who don’t know, Battlefield is the famous FPS that rivals Activision’s Call of Duty series quite fiercely, as a result providing fans with critically-acclaimed titles one by one, and now we wait eagerly to see what BF6 has to offer.

Up until now, it was rumoured that the game will be released “Holiday 2021” on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S, but finally, in a week we will get some official information, and hopefully, that Battlefield 6 release date will be among the news. Keeping in mind that the sales of Battlefield V did not really meet the expectations held by EA, we may expect some changes in the Battlefield VI game.

One of the rumour-indicated changes is that the newest iteration in the series may return to the contemporary military setting that was prevalent in the previous titles released up until 2013. This is what the general director at Dice, Oskar Gabrielson said about the Battlefield 6 process so far:

“Together, we are creating a jaw-dropping experience for you to enjoy later in 2021. We’re in daily playtesting mode right now: polishing, balancing, and making the best possible Battlefield game we can. I can tell you it is a bold step. It has everything we love about Battlefield – and takes all of it to the next level. Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs.”

Sounds like the frantic Battlefield experience we love, alright. However, best to adjust expectations accordingly and let the reveal happen first before we can start speculating about the next Battlefield game.

Meanwhile, if the news about the reveal got you feeling nostalgic about the Battlefield series, consider diving back into one of the games and experiencing the raw emotions of warfare.
