In case you didn’t know, Second Dinner is a team that consists of former Blizzard employees. Former Hearthstone game director Ben Brode, together with other ex-Hearthstone developers opened up a new studio and secured Marvel license.

This is big news considering that Marvel license seems unattainable, especially for the newer game studios. Currently, unannounced Marvel game pitched by Second Dinner, fascinated Marvel so they decided to allow the team to use the company’s intellectual property.

Furthermore, Second Dinner can feel secure money-wise. Chinese tech company NetEase invested 30 million dollars to a newly established game studio which is more than enough to fully fund its first project.

However, not much is known about the game. The developer says that it’s “a huge opportunity to make deep, satisfying games that are optimized for mobile”. Having in mind the team’s experience with creating Hearthstone, we wouldn’t be surprised if the new project is a collectible cards game of some sorts. We’ll just have to wait and see what the Second Dinner has in store.
