The Coalition, the developers behind highly anticipated Gears 5, recently released a post in their official site detailing an upcoming technical test for the game. According to the news, the test will run for two weekends and will be accessible for PC and Xbox One players.

The test should give players a chance to peek behind the curtain and try out three different modes set on two new multiplayer maps. The goal of the test is to check out all the technical nuances – that means that a lot of players will get their chance to get in. The Coalition detailed that the test will be available to everyone who pre-ordered Gears 5. Additionally, players who have an active Xbox Game Pass will also get a chance to download the test client.

Modes

Arcade: a new approachable, frenetic Versus experience.  

Escalation: The Pinnacle objective mode of Gears is back and better than ever. 

King of Hill: Capture the hill, enjoy the carnage.

Tour of Duty: Experience a mini Tour of Duty, where you’ll complete Medals to unlock exclusive Tester Weapon Skins to take into Gears 5. Complete all 3 Medals to unlock the exclusive Tester Banner to showcase in Gears 5.

The first testing phase will begin on July 19th and will run until July 22nd. The second phase is scheduled one week later, kicking off on July 26th and is set to conclude on July 29th. Players who want to prepare for the test in advance will be able to download the client starting July 17th.

Gears 5 is set to launch on September 10th on PC and Xbox One.
