After the leak and many speculations, Sony officially announced free PlayStation Plus games for May 2022. While Sony is revamping its subscription service with new tiers, they still won’t stop giving out free PS Plus games to loyal PlayStation Plus subscribers.

The games will be available to download for free from May 3 on PS4 and PS5.

What are the free PS Plus games for May?

While the football season is stopping to a halt for the upcoming summer, Sony is kicking off May’s lineup of free PS Plus games with the latest FIFA 22. The latest installment and probably the last game in the FIFA series is available on both PS4 and PS5. Though FIFA 22 is superior on PS5 due to next-gen Hypermotion technology, PS Plus subscribers on PS4 shouldn’t be discouraged to get the best football simulator for free.

FIFA 22 is one of the free PS Plus games for May 2022

The next free PS Plus game is co-op rogue-lite Tribes of Midgard where you’ll have to protect the seed of Yggdrasil (the sacred tree) and prevent the end of the world  – Ragnarok. Gather resources by day and protect your settlements by night from the waves of mystical creatures straight out of the Norse mythology. There’s no reason to skip this game as it is free on both PS4 and PS5 for every PS Plus subscriber.

Curse of the Dead Gods is available among free PS Plus games of May 2022

The third game coming to PS Plus in May is a single-player dungeon crawler Curse of the Dead Gods. The game will be a real candy to fans of classic RPGs like Diablo or the recent hit Hades. But beware, the deeper into the dungeon you travel, the stronger the curses on your character are. This is an interesting gameplay mechanic that will keep you on your toes and make the gameplay loop feel fresh and engaging. Curse of the Dead Gods is available for free to all PS Plus subscribers on PS4.
