Developers from Fatshark are planning to add a new iteration in 2021 to the popular action series Warhammer 40,000. The newest title is revealed to be Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a visceral 4-player co-op game that delivers a fast-paced experience in the dystopian world of Tertium.

The juicy news is that the creators of Warhammer 40K have decided to work in collaboration with highly-accomplished author Dan Abnett who worked on such memorable works as Marvel Comics, Mordor games, and has written a dozen novels taking place in the Warhammer 40K universe, including franchise titles like Warhammer Fantasy, Torchwood. You can check out more in the trailer below:

In his interview, Dan Abnett shares his feelings on collaborating with Fatshark:

“Working with Fatshark has been fantastic. It’s great to partner with them and see their amazing skills create the universe of Warhammer 40K in vivid, realistic and interactive ways. Things I’ve only imagined before, or created in prose, are exploding into life.”

Seeing that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is set in a dark, dystopian world, and the narrative being written together with Abnett, we can expect some grand story-telling right there.

So far we know that the game will offer a 4-player co-op experience with a frenzied battle system that includes the melee combat reminiscent of Vermintide 2. The gameplay, in fact, seems to be a mix of elements to deliver a somewhat intriguing Warhammer 40K gaming experience and blow fresh winds into the franchise. One way or another, stay tuned in and we will let you know more about the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Darktide game.
