If you like action-adventure games this is a good day for you. Bethesda announced their new project – a new Indiana Jones game. The game will be developed by MachineGames studio which is known for its work on Wolfenstein.

The news broke out on Twitter where the publisher shared a short statement and a teaser video. Apparently, the new game will tell a unique story that will not be based on any existing material.

The statement reads:

“A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!”

The trailer features a desk with items belonging to the famous adventurer – numerous books, a diary, a compass, Indiana’s iconic hat, whip, and plane tickets to Rome. The latter might hint at the location of the new game, but we can’t be certain about it.

While this new reveal got the gamers excited, many of them are already concerned about the project. In case you need a reminder, Microsoft is in the process of purchasing Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media, so this new game might be the first among many future Bethesda’s games to be released exclusively for Xbox. It wouldn’t be surprising considering the fact that PlayStation has the Uncharted series. Indiana Jones’ name might be a great way to bring balance between consoles in the action-adventure genre.

We hope to learn more about this project in the coming months and clear up all the rumors.

Indiana Jones featured in many past games, however, most of them were based on movies and weren’t as popular as films. However, if you wish to check out some character’s history in gaming, be sure to check out our deals.
