If you’re a fan of the horror genre, you already know Amnesia. It was huge back in 2010 when the first Amnesia: The Dark Descent released. It was then followed by many DLCs and updates and kept itself relevant for years. Now, after running for 10 years, it’s finally getting a full-fledged sequel called Amnesia: Rebirth which should be released for PC and PlayStation 4 later this year.

Thomas Grip, the creative director of Frictional Games describes the new title as something completely new, saying that it will bring a new protagonist, a new setting and a new story that will be built upon things the team learned over the years. However, you shouldn’t expect more of the same. As Thomas Grip stated – “in horror, repetition is a deadly sin.”

“As you might expect from a Frictional game, we’re not simply going for a carnival attraction of jumpscares. Amnesia: Rebirth is an emotionally harrowing journey — something different, something less predictable. It will test you in ways you haven’t experienced before, and will make you think about the things that really scare you.”With this PlayStation’s blog post, Frictional games also shared a trailer for the new game. AS expected it’s fairly vague but atmospheric enough to pique our interest.

Amnesia: Rebirth is still some time off. It should be released in autumn 2020. While you wait for more information regarding the title we suggest you check out the first game – we have a great price for it!
