It’s hard to believe that one of the most popular FPS games is now older than many of the game’s pro players. Yesterday marked exactly 20 years since the first version of Counter Strike was released to the public. What started as a mod for Half-Life is now a synonym of tactical first-person shooter game.

To celebrate the occasion, Valve is hosting a new contest which will allow players to leave their mark in the game. 20th Anniversary Workshop Event invites workshop contributors to create content for a themed Weapon Case and Sticker Capsule and should be themed around CS-related history. According to a post on Steam, the weapon finish and sticker designs may be created in any style. However, all designs must be original with the exception of Counter-Strike logos or icons.

Valve is waiting for the contest entries until September 19th in the CS:GO Steam Workshop page. After that, the developers will select some of the best works created by the community and release them to the live game at a later date. It’s also worth mentioning that all submitted items will still be eligible for any of the future releases.

Of course, if your work will be selected, you will get paid for your contest submission. So, if you have some spare time and want to contribute to the game you love – now is your chance to make history. Go go go!
