With the launch of the new console generation, many fans wonder how their favorite gaming franchise will look and feel on these devices. Yesterday, Visual Concepts finally decided to show their NBA 2K21 gameplay captured via PlayStation 5. No surprise – it looks awesome!

The new trailer starts with some realistic-looking sweat dripping off New Orleans Pelicans’ Zion Williamson’s face before giving viewers a chance to enjoy a few slow-motion dunks from the guy, accompanied by Damian Lillard from Portland Trail Blazers. It also shows a shot from the tunnel leading out to the court ahead of a Dallas Mavericks game, standing just behind Luka Dončić as he bumps fists with Mark Cuban. Then there’s a bunch of shots and lay-ups from the game…

We have to be honest – this might very well be the best-looking NBA 2K trailer we’ve ever seen and what makes it more impressive is the fact that all of these images were captured in-game. The faces are incredibly realistic, the animations are smooth, and the court is packed with detail.

Greg Thomas, the president of Visual Concepts had this to say about the next-gen version:

“Never before have we been able to deliver this level of visual fidelity and realism in a video game. NBA 2K21 is the standout title that best delivers the promise of next-gen: truly revolutionary graphics, lightning-fast load times, and incredible new features and gameplay only possible on next-generation hardware.”

It makes us wonder what EA will do with next-gen capabilities since it’s fairly safe to assume that 2K already made a solid statement. If there won’t be any major technical bugs and annoying microtransactions, NBA 2K21 might staple itself as the best-looking sports game ever.

While the PC version is already out, NBA 2K21 will be available on November 10th for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S globally, November 12th for PlayStation 5 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and November 19th for PlayStation 5 in all other regions.
