Even if you’ve never played Dota 2, you’ve probably heard about its main event – The International. Without a doubt, it can be regarded as the biggest esports event of the year. The competition started 9 years ago and ever since the first show, players awed just by looking at the competition’s prize pool.  The International 2019 seems to be breaking all the previous records. In just three weeks the prize pool of The International 2019 surpassed the 15 million dollars milestone.

While currently, it’s not even close to what the prize pool was in 2018, Dota 2 community is getting there. Dota 2 Prize Pool Tracker shows that currently The International 2019 almost 18 percent ahead of The International 2018 statistics.

The Battle Pass for The International 2019 seems to be a great one as well. While players have already received some new bonuses, items, and other features, Valve is adding even more content in the upcoming weeks. If the current pace is kept, we can hope to see another record-breaking year for The International. The previous record stands at 25,532,177 dollars.

The International 2019 will be held in Shanghai, China from August 20th to 25th.
