If you’re still playing Pokémon GO, you should know that this mobile hit game will soon include an update that will alter the experience of battles against other players. The official Pokémon GO’s Twitter account announced that Niantic is adding a new game feature called GO Battle League building upon Trainer Battles and enabling online play.

If our memory serves right (forgive us, we’re currently playing Harry Potter game), Pokémon GO’s Trainer Battles were introduced last year and gave an option to play against your friends if you add them to your Best Friends list. GO Battle League will work in a similar fashion, the main difference being that it will pit you against random players from all over the world in a special matchmaking process. We should also mention that in order to gain entry to the league, you’ll need to earn a ticket ‘by walking’.

While we currently don’t know if GO Battle League will have the same mechanics as Trainer Battles, Niantic promised to share some more details about the newest mode in an upcoming video. We don’t know when it will come out but we promise to keep an eye on it. The release of the GO Battle League is set for early 2020. We don’t know about you guys, but we’re already blasting the Pokémon theme… I want to be the very best. Like no one ever was…

In case you didn’t know, you can transfer your Pokemon GO collection to these Nintendo Switch games.
