We have to make a confession – we love hardcore games. So, 2 years ago, when we got the chance to play the first Nioh game, we were gone from our families and friends sight for weeks. The reveal of Nioh 2 brought us to tears and finally, we can start planning another disappearance from real life. During the Tokyo Game Show, Team Ninja released a new Nioh 2 trailer which also gives a new release window for the game. Nioh 2 will come to PlayStation 4 in early 2020.

We know it’s in Japanese, but that’s not the point. The new trailer does not only bring the cinematics but also a glimpse at the new gameplay, including several boss fights which is a bread and butter of Nioh. The trailer features some kind of bull-spider, cat-demon and many more very creative and awesome looking bad guys inspired by Japanese mythology.

If you’ve never played Nioh, you should know that it’s a hardcore action RPG game similar to the Souls series. It will be interesting to see how Team Ninja and Nioh 2 will punch back to their rivals From Software and their Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Both games have a similar hardcore gameplay mechanics and are wrapped in Japanese mythology. So now, we’ll just have to wait… 2020 can’t come soon enough.
