It’s been a while since Blizzard’s MOBA game Heroes of the Storm released some fresh new content for its ever-declining player base. However, in the coming week, developers of the game plan to release a new update called CraftWars, which brings a new set of cosmetics that mixes Warcraft and StarCraft franchises, and tons of changes to existing game modes and heroes.

For a few weeks now Blizzard has been teasing HOTS players with cryptic new pictures showing off some weird structures such as The Hive with elements of The Icecrown Citated or Exodar surfing through familiar space near Korhal.

Apparently, these were some artworks to get players excited about the new StarCraft and Warcraft crossover in Heroes of The Storm which brings tons of awesome themed skins that dress up Warcraft characters in StarCraft uniforms and vice versa. Among the list of new skins, you can find some unique items such as King of Blades Arthas, Draenei Executor Artanis, Emperor of the Dominion Anduin, Necrotopologist Mei, or Mineral Harvester Gazlowe. Told ya’ it’s weird… But that’s not all – there’s also a bunch of new mounts, portraits, sprays, and other items that fits the theme of CraftWars.

However, cosmetic updates are not the only new things coming to the game with the next Heroes of the Storm update. Blizzard will introduce a new ARAM (All Random All Mid) mode which will replace the familiar Heroes Brawl. Unlike Heroes Brawl, won’t feature any dedicated Weekly Quests but player’s progress made in there will contribute to Daily Quests and Special Event Quests progress.

Finally, there are some hero changes that should make things more balanced across the board. D. Va and Gazlowe are getting some serious overhauls – developers are bringing new talents and skills in order to make these heroes more attractive picks in certain scenarios. In addition, there are tons of balance changes for other heroes as well.

While this new update most certainly won’t be enough to reignite Heroes of the Storm flame, it should bring some curious players to check out what’s changed in their beloved game and give some incentive to play this game more in order to collect all of the new loot. CraftWars will be in the game’s PTR until September 7th and should debut on the live game next week.
