11 bit studios finally released a new DLC for their highly popular city management survival game Frostpunk. Frostpunk: On The Edge is the third and final expansion for the game which concludes Season Pass offerings and introduces some new ways to play the game.

According to the official description, On the Edge revolves around themes of trust and loyalty.

“Assigned as the leader of a newly formed Outpost — settled near an Army Warehouse — you are kept on New London’s leash and bound to transfer all your precious findings to headquarters. At the same time, you have to rely on scarce food deliveries and laws enforced by your supervisor. It’s a delicate balance to navigate — each decision introduces new potential risks and unknowns. But as soon as an alternate food source is discovered by your scouts, you start to think about surviving on your own…”

The new DLC brings an option to leave your city and for new outposts in the frozen wilderness, adding another layer of difficulty for players willing to try it out. You can expect to see some fresh game mechanics enabling you to establish an economical union with other outposts, juggling between settlements to keep your survivors happy and constructing routes across the Frostland in order to enable smooth trading.

In addition, 11 bit studios state that Frostpunk: On The Edge brings 16 brand new areas and will expand the story of the Great Storm and its aftermath.

In Frostpunk, your ultimate goal is to survive the frozen wastes as long as possible and this game will do everything in its power to make your tremble and fail.
