While the majority of survival game enthusiasts have migrated to battle royale titles such as PUBG, there’re still a bunch of players finding joy in the good old DayZ. That joy will be doubled soon enough as the Bohemia Interactive announced that DayZ will get its first official DLC, a new DayZ map called Livonia.

The new map is based on the similar map introduced in Arma 3 expansion which boasts an insane area of 163 square kilometers. This vast wilderness will be full of “green landscapes, dense expansive forests, serene lakes, and winding rivers” – all full of zombies and other survivors trying to kill or rob you.

And also, a new location means new climate. The developers shared some details about that:

“The temperate late summer climate of Livonia will bring frequent rainfall and thunderstorms, providing players with additional environmental challenges during their travels – and making protective gear and shelter more important than ever. And, of course, with a new wilderness comes new wildlife. Most prominently, there is a new predator roaming the forests of Livonia – bears! – and they won’t take kindly to human-shaped threats. Survivors will have to be well-equipped to effectively deal with these grizzly foes.”

Livonia should make its way to PC and consoles at the same time, with the release of 1.06 update. While the map itself won’t be free, the new update will also bring tons of new assets to the game which will be available even if you decided to pass on Livonia. If you haven’t played DayZ already, you can get the game at Eneba for a very good price.
