The free-to-play monster hunting game Dauntless is finally leaving Early Access and gearing up for a full launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The developers of the game, Phoenix Labs, announced that the game will get an official launch on September 26th with a 1.0 version and an expansion titled Aether Unbound.

According to the developers, Aether Bound will be the biggest game update since the initial Early Access update which will bring tons of new content to the game. It should please all current Dauntless players alongside the game’s newcomers.

1.0 adds tons of new weapons, fully realized Bounty System, and fresh behemoths to hunt. Additionally, the developers released a new section on their website, which is dedicated to the content in the making and a roadmap of things to come in Dauntless a bit further down the line.

If you lived under a rock and haven’t heard about Dauntless before, you should know that the game is somewhat similar to another popular monster hunting game Monster Hunter: World, where you fight against powerful behemoths, collect resources and develop your character and its gear.

Dauntless is currently available on PC (via Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while the game’s Nintendo Switch version is also in the works. Dauntless also supports cross-play and cross-progression, so it’s a perfect game if you’re looking for something to play with your friends who own other gaming platforms.
