The first week of the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla couldn’t be better. Ubisoft announced that its latest series’ entry broke the record of the biggest launch week sales in the Assassin’s Creed franchise history. However, we didn’t get any exact figures, probably because it’s still selling like crazy and these are constantly changing.

If we’re looking for some reason why the Viking world in the Assassin’s Creed universe brought so many players, we don’t need to look far. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X launched in the same week, meaning that many players are looking for their first game on the new console as well as some current-generation console owners are trying to pass some time while we all wait for that big game to come out on December 10th.

In a special press release, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla producer Julien Laferrière stated that the main challenge for the team to ship the game was the ongoing pandemic.

“We are truly delighted by the enthusiastic response from our players and want to thank the fans for their incredible support. Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams and it’s fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much.”

In addition to the fact that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had the best launch in the series, Ubisoft also shared some fun stats about players’ behavior. According to these stats, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla community already covered more than 4 million kilometers in the game and have built 55 million buildings in their settlements since launch. Additionally, over 3.5 million games of Orlog have been won and 1.8 million players have won at least one drinking game.
