Can’t stay away from Apex Legends for longer periods of time? Well, you’re in luck since Respawn Entertainment announced a new version of Apex Legends which will be specifically designed for mobile platforms. As its PC and console counterpart, Apex Legends Mobile will be a free-to-play game offering some premium digital goodies for the biggest fans of the game.

The news about this new version was released over at EA’s official page where Chad Grenier, Game Director on Apex Legends shared some details about the new game. According to the information provided, Apex Legends Mobile is “specially designed for touchscreens, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone”. The new game aims to keep as many things as possible true to the original Apex Legends but it won’t be the same game.

Naturally, Apex Legends mobile won’t feature any form of cross-play. However, fans expect that certain progress made while playing mobile will carry over to the PC and consoles. Currently, we don’t have many details about this yet, but we expect to learn more as soon as testing begins.

Apex Legends Mobile will roll out gradually, with a few thousand players getting access to the game early. Respawn Entertainment stated that bigger regional beta tests should begin later this month, so we can expect a full release in a month or two.

About a month ago Respawn Entertainment shared the news about Apex Legends coming to Nintendo Switch. Add in this new potential audience to the first 100 million Apex Legends players, combine it with the release of a new season and make a crossover with Titanfall… Looks like Apex Legends slowly but surely becoming one of the biggest games in the world.
