MP9 | Old Roots

MP9 | Old Roots is a CS2 SMG skin with a dense botanical pattern in muted greens. Vines, leaves and stylized flowers cover much of the weapon, giving it an earthy, detailed appearance. The finish suits players who prefer natural colors over bright accents. All exterior tiers are available, alongside regular and Souvenir versions, but there is no StatTrak™ edition.

Description

MP9 | Old Roots gives the Counter-Terrorist SMG a Spray-Paint finish built around winding vegetation. The MP9 itself is a Swiss-made polymer weapon with an ergonomic design associated with private security use. Old Roots replaces a plain surface with dark olive, muted green and pale yellow-green shapes across the body. Its botanical artwork extends onto the grips, magazine and skeletal stock, keeping the design visible across several distinct weapon parts. Dark outlines and fine speckling add detail without moving away from the restrained color palette. The look suits green-themed loadouts and players who want intricate artwork rather than a single bold graphic. Buyers can choose between regular and Souvenir copies, then compare the exterior and float value within their preferred version. Individual listing images also help show how the busy pattern reads across the weapon's grooves and darker areas.

History and Origin

MP9 | Old Roots was released on September 21, 2021. It arrived during CS:GO through the Operation Riptide update. Valve created the finish, rather than a community designer. The skin belongs to The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, which defines its collection-based acquisition routes. Its Souvenir edition appears in 6 packages, including the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and Antwerp 2022 Dust II Souvenir Package. Opening a compatible package remains a route to the Souvenir skin, although the result is not guaranteed. Trade Up Contracts provide another route through Consumer Grade items from the same collection. Existing copies can also be purchased on the Steam Community Market or obtained through player trades, separately from the original release.

Finish Style

Old Roots uses the Spray-Paint finish style to spread a vine-and-flower design across the MP9. Dark olive provides the deeper areas of the palette, while muted green and pale yellow-green distinguish the botanical shapes. Curling vines connect leaf forms and stylized flowers, creating a dense pattern across most of the painted surfaces. Dark outlines separate these winding elements so that the overlapping shapes remain readable within the busy design. Finer speckled details occupy the spaces between larger motifs, adding another layer of visual texture. The receiver, grips, magazine and skeletal stock all carry the artwork, extending its character beyond the main body. Horizontal grooves interrupt the pattern on the ribbed grips and magazine, making the weapon's underlying construction visible through the design. The darker muzzle and trigger area contrast with the painted sections, keeping the natural colors concentrated on the broader surfaces.

Float Value

MP9 | Old Roots has a float range of 0.00 to 0.50, defining the available condition range for this finish. It comes in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior tier missing. Regular and Souvenir versions are available, but there is no StatTrak™ version; version choice remains separate from cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

MP9 | Old Roots is an Industrial Grade skin within The 2021 Dust 2 Collection. Its collection probability is 4.0%, or about 1 in 25 outcomes. Ownership is documented for Snax, TaZ and tarik, although professional ownership alone does not establish current demand or predict a future selling price.

Why it’s Popular:

• Earthy greens suit a coordinated Counter-Terrorist loadout

• Dense vines and flowers give the compact SMG detailed artwork

• Every exterior tier offers a choice of condition

• Souvenir versions provide a tournament-linked collecting option

Price Range

The live MP9 | Old Roots price range is $0.42 to $30.00. It sits in a low-priced market segment, making it a budget-oriented option for an MP9 loadout. Those bounds cover the whole skin and should not be treated as fixed prices for particular exteriors or versions. Compare each listing's exterior, exact float and regular or Souvenir status rather than assuming matching names mean equivalent copies. When checking the CS2 skin price before a purchase or sale, use the current offer and item details together.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Souvenir Package

Open a compatible Dust II Souvenir Package for a chance at a Souvenir MP9 | Old Roots. The skin appears in 6 packages, including Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and Antwerp 2022 Dust II Souvenir Package. Opening a package does not guarantee this particular skin.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract using 10 Consumer Grade skins from The 2021 Dust 2 Collection returns 1 Industrial Grade skin from that collection. MP9 | Old Roots is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Industrial Grade skins. Compare the input cost with buying a copy directly before choosing this route.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct purchase route for MP9 | Old Roots, with regular and Souvenir versions to consider. Choose the desired exterior and version, then examine the individual item's details rather than treating every listing as interchangeable.

5. Trade with Other Players

MP9 | Old Roots can also be obtained by trading with another player who owns a copy. Confirm the exterior, float and regular or Souvenir status of the offered item before agreeing to the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The available price comparisons include regular and Souvenir copies, giving buyers several variants to assess without establishing a broader supply trend. Current demand strength and long-term price direction remain uncertain, despite documented professional ownership. For buy, sell or trade decisions, compare like-for-like exteriors and versions rather than relying on the overall price range alone.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Low entry cost for a collectible MP9 finish

• Souvenir options connected to named tournament packages

• Documented ownership by Snax, TaZ and tarik

• Valve-created artwork from The 2021 Dust 2 Collection

MP9 | Old Roots receives a medium editorial investment rating, supported by its low price level, Souvenir options and documented professional ownership. These features make it a reasonable collectible to assess, but they do not demonstrate future price growth. The main risk is uncertain demand and supply direction, so a visually appealing copy should not be mistaken for a predictable investment.
