MP9 | Airlock

MP9 | Airlock is a CS2 SMG skin for the Counter-Terrorist MP9, combining an off-white body with a bright red magazine. Dark mechanical panels and fine gray detailing give its Custom Paint Job finish a technical appearance. The palette suits players who prefer pale weapon finishes with a concentrated splash of color. All listed exteriors are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

MP9 | Airlock gives the Counter-Terrorist SMG a pale, mechanically detailed finish in CS2. Its Custom Paint Job uses off-white surfaces, dark structural sections, and a red magazine as the main visual anchor. The MP9 itself is a Swiss-manufactured polymer weapon, and the finish follows its distinctive grips and skeletal stock. Rather than relying on a large illustration, Airlock builds its identity through panel lines, ribbing, and small markings. The red magazine draws attention without extending that bright color across the entire weapon. This makes the skin a natural fit for players building white, gray, or red-accented loadouts. Buyers can choose among Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred copies according to their condition preferences. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir options also give buyers separate version choices to consider before selecting a listing.

History and Origin

MP9 | Airlock was released on August 18, 2016, alongside the Gamma 2 Case. Its introduction formed part of the update named "Gamma 2 Case Skins". Steam Workshop community designer Phrexeus created the finish. The skin belongs to The Gamma 2 Collection, which also provides its collection-based Trade Up Contract route. Its accompanying flavor text adds a playful reference to using the weapon against toasters. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Gamma 2 Case no longer drops. That retirement does not prevent existing cases from being bought on the market and opened today. Current acquisition therefore remains possible through existing cases, qualifying trade-ups, marketplace purchases, and player-to-player trades.

Finish Style

The Airlock finish uses a Custom Paint Job with an off-white body and a strongly contrasting red magazine. Pale paint covers the receiver, pistol grip, forward grip, and skeletal stock, tying those separate parts together visually. Dark gray and black mechanical sections interrupt the white surfaces, while the muzzle remains black. Fine gray panel lines trace the body and give the finish a technical, segmented appearance. Horizontal ribbing and small red markings add detail without overwhelming the pale base color. Dark rectangular receiver panels contain mechanical-looking elements that reinforce the skin's industrial character. Diagonal gray stripes mark the bottoms of the grips, while pale diagonal stripes decorate one side of the magazine. Recessed rectangular magazine details give the red section additional structure, making it more than a simple block of contrasting color.

Float Value

The MP9 | Airlock float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, with none of those exterior categories excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are available, while float and exterior describe cosmetic condition separately from the selected version.

Rarity and Popularity

MP9 | Airlock has the Classified rarity grade. Its chance of appearing from a Gamma 2 Case opening is 1.07%, making opening a case an uncertain acquisition route. Professional players jks, Maikelele, and Queenix have owned the skin, providing documented ownership without establishing broader market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Bright red magazine contrasts clearly with the off-white body

• Technical panel details give the finish a distinctive identity

• Broad exterior availability supports different condition preferences

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions expand the available choices

Price Range

The live MP9 | Airlock price range is $8.50 to $105.90. Exterior and float value are useful starting points when comparing the CS2 skin price across individual listings. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir versions should be evaluated separately rather than treated as interchangeable offers. These bounds cover the whole skin and are not permanently attached to a particular exterior or version. Buyers should match the exact condition and version before deciding which listing offers suitable value.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Gamma 2 Case

Opening a Gamma 2 Case offers a 1.07% chance of receiving MP9 | Airlock. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. This route provides a chance at the skin rather than a direct purchase of the desired item.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can exchange 10 Restricted skins from The Gamma 2 Collection for 1 Classified skin from that collection. MP9 | Airlock is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Classified skins. Buyers should distinguish this uncertain route from purchasing a specific copy with a known exterior and float.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

MP9 | Airlock can be bought on the Steam Community Market. Buyers should check the exterior and whether the listing is standard, StatTrak, or Souvenir before selecting an offer. Purchasing a specific listing avoids the random result involved in a case opening or Trade Up Contract.

5. Trade with Other Players

Players can obtain MP9 | Airlock by trading with other players. The offered item's exterior, float, and version should match the agreed exchange before it is accepted. Anyone looking to buy, sell, or trade the skin should compare those details rather than relying on the finish name alone.

Trading and Investment Considerations

No new Gamma 2 Cases drop, and opening existing cases reduces the remaining case supply. Trade Up Contracts still provide another acquisition route, so retired case drops do not make the skin's supply fixed. Traders should compare exterior, float, and version carefully, while treating professional ownership as distinct from evidence of sustained buying demand.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case supply supports its collecting appeal

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive off-white finish and red magazine

• StatTrak and Souvenir options broaden collecting choices

The editorial investment rating for MP9 | Airlock is medium. Retired case supply, documented professional ownership, and its distinctive finish support collecting appeal, but do not establish future price growth. Continued trade-up availability and uncertain resale demand are the main risks, so a quick sale or profitable return should not be assumed.
