Short Description

MP9 | Hydra is a CS2 skin for the Counter-Terrorist MP9 SMG, featuring a bright lime-green Custom Paint Job. Angular panels and winding serpent shapes give the weapon a busy, graphic appearance. The finish suits players building green-and-black loadouts. All exterior grades are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

MP9 | Hydra brings an Operation Hydra-inspired finish to the MP9 in CS2. The weapon is a Swiss-manufactured SMG with an ergonomic polymer design, used on the Counter-Terrorist side. Its lime-green receiver contrasts with black and gray panels rather than using a uniform color scheme. Thin white lines and small red accents add detail around the larger shapes. Serpent-like graphics and a patterned grip give the finish its distinctive visual identity. Dark components at the muzzle and stock provide a quieter backdrop to the decorated body. The look suits players who prefer bright colors and layered artwork over restrained finishes. Buyers on Eneba Skins can compare exterior, float value and version before choosing a copy to buy or trade.

History and Origin

MP9 | Hydra was released in CS:GO on October 18, 2019. It arrived alongside the CS20 Case in the CS20 Case Skins update. Steam Workshop community designer Frostbug created the finish. The skin belongs to The CS20 Collection, linking its collection identity to its original case release. Its artwork references Operation Hydra, the game's 8th operation, rather than originating from that operation's release. The CS20 Case stopped dropping after Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. Existing cases remain available to buy on the market and open, so retirement did not remove the original acquisition route. Today, buyers can also obtain the skin through marketplace listings, player trades or eligible trade-up contracts.

Finish Style

Hydra uses a Custom Paint Job built around bright lime green, black and gray. Angular panels divide the receiver, with thin white lines and small red accents breaking up the larger color blocks. Black, winding serpent-like shapes run across the sides and reinforce the Operation Hydra reference. A small HYDRA label appears near the top of the receiver. The pistol grip carries a dense green-and-black scale pattern, extending the theme beyond the main body. Bright green magazine panels sit inside dark gray edges, while the ribbed foregrip is mostly gray with lime details. The muzzle, top rail and skeletal stock remain dark gray or black. This placement concentrates the visual activity around the receiver and grip while leaving the weapon's outer components comparatively simple.

Float Value

MP9 | Hydra has a float value range of 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior category excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, but version availability is separate from the cosmetic condition described by the exterior.

Rarity and Popularity

MP9 | Hydra is a Classified skin in The CS20 Collection. Its stated chance from a CS20 Case opening is 1.07%, making an opening an uncertain route to this particular finish. Professional players dupreeh, allu and daps have owned it, providing concrete ownership examples without establishing how strong current buying demand is.

Why it’s Popular:

• Bright lime-green colors suit green-and-black loadouts

• Serpent graphics give the receiver a distinctive identity

• Operation Hydra reference adds thematic appeal

• StatTrak and Souvenir options broaden the available choices

Price Range

The live MP9 | Hydra price range is $3.81 to $106.55. These bounds cover the whole skin, not any particular exterior or version. Exterior and exact float help distinguish copies within the available listings. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions should also be compared separately rather than treated as interchangeable options. When checking a CS2 skin price to buy, sell or trade, compare listings with matching characteristics and inspect the specific copy's appearance.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the CS20 Case

Open a CS20 Case for a chance to receive MP9 | Hydra, with a stated chance of 1.07%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A trade-up contract using 10 Restricted skins from The CS20 Collection produces a Classified skin from that collection. Hydra is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Classified skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

MP9 | Hydra can be purchased directly through the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a case opening. Check the listed exterior and version to confirm that the item matches the intended purchase.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading provides another route to MP9 | Hydra through an exchange with another owner. Before accepting, confirm the exact item, its float value and whether it is a standard, StatTrak or Souvenir version.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The CS20 Case's retired drop status restricts fresh case supply, although existing openings and trade-up contracts can still create Hydra copies. Professional ownership supports recognition, but it does not establish sustained demand or a reliable price trend. Traders should compare matching exteriors, floats and versions rather than treating the full range as a valuation for every copy.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired CS20 Case drops constrain fresh case supply

• Classified rarity supports collection appeal

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive Operation Hydra-themed artwork

The investment outlook is medium, supported by retired case drops, Classified rarity and documented professional ownership. The main risk is uncertain future demand: existing case openings and trade-ups can still add copies, and none of these factors promises price growth.
