MP7 | Prey

MP7 | Prey is a CS2 SMG skin with a muted rust-brown and gray-tan zebra pattern over a dark base. Its earthy colors and irregular stripes suit players who prefer subdued, patterned weapons without lettering or separate artwork. The finish is available in every exterior from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, with standard and Souvenir versions to compare.

Description

MP7 | Prey gives the German-made MP7 a spray-painted finish built around earthy zebra stripes in CS2. Rust-brown and gray-tan bands cover the receiver, creating a patterned surface rather than a single solid color. The design continues onto the magazine, grips, and rear stock section, keeping the major painted parts visually connected. Dark hardware around the barrel and top rail separates those striped areas from the weapon's mechanical details. With no visible lettering or separate artwork, the finish draws attention through its palette and irregular bands. That restrained approach suits players building a muted loadout or looking for an animal-patterned SMG without bright accents. Buyers can choose between regular and Souvenir copies, then narrow the selection by exterior and exact float value. MP7 | Prey can be bought directly through Eneba Skins.

History and Origin

MP7 | Prey debuted on September 21, 2021, as part of the Operation Riptide update. It entered the game through The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, which remains its collection identity in CS2. Valve created the finish, so its origin is an official design rather than a community-designer submission. Its flavor text reinforces the hunting theme by describing an ongoing routine centered on pursuing prey. Souvenir availability extends across 6 packages, giving that version a separate acquisition route from buying an existing standard copy. Examples include the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and the Antwerp 2022 Dust II Souvenir Package. Today, existing copies can be purchased on the Steam Community Market or acquired through trades with other players. Opening a compatible Souvenir package is another route, but it does not guarantee this particular skin.

Finish Style

The Prey finish uses the Spray-Paint style to place an irregular zebra pattern across much of the MP7. Muted rust-brown bands sit alongside gray-tan areas, with a dark base visible throughout the design. The receiver carries the main striped surface, making the pattern prominent across the weapon's side panels. Similar bands continue over the magazine, pistol grip, front grip, and rear stock section instead of stopping at the receiver. The barrel, top rail, and trigger area remain mostly dark gray or black, giving the painted sections a clear visual boundary. Small pale patches interrupt the color coverage, while scuffed-looking edges add texture to the visible surface. There is no visible lettering or separate illustration, so the appearance depends on stripe shape, placement, and color contrast. Listing images are useful for inspecting those details on an individual copy without assuming how the finish changes at a particular float.

Float Value

The MP7 | Prey float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.48. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. Standard and Souvenir versions are available, with version choice separate from the cosmetic condition described by exterior and float.

Rarity and Popularity

MP7 | Prey has Consumer Grade rarity, which describes its item grade rather than its exterior condition. Its chance within The 2021 Dust 2 Collection is 16.0%, or about 1 in 6 outcomes; this is not a Souvenir package probability. Professional owners include TaZ, tarik, and shox, providing recognizable ownership examples without establishing market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Muted rust-brown stripes suit earthy loadouts

• Pattern coverage extends across the receiver, magazine, grips, and stock

• Standard and Souvenir options support different collecting preferences

• Every exterior is available

Price Range

The live MP7 | Prey price range is $0.03 to $62.90. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Exterior and exact float help distinguish individual listings, so the wear label should not be the only comparison point. Standard and Souvenir copies should also be checked separately rather than assuming their prices move together. When comparing this CS2 skin price across offers, inspect the version, condition, and item image before selecting a listing.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Souvenir Package

Open a compatible Dust II Souvenir package for a chance at Souvenir MP7 | Prey. Supported examples include the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and the Antwerp 2022 Dust II Souvenir Package. Opening a package does not guarantee this skin, and the collection chance should not be treated as the package's opening odds.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

MP7 | Prey can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market as an existing item. Compare the listing's exterior and whether it is a standard or Souvenir copy before choosing an offer. This route allows buyers to select the skin rather than rely on a package outcome.

4. Trade with Other Players

Players can acquire MP7 | Prey through a trade with another player who already owns a copy. Check the exact item, exterior, float, and standard or Souvenir version before accepting. A trade targets an existing copy rather than producing a random collection result.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Marketplace listings include both standard and Souvenir copies, so version, exterior, and float are practical starting points for comparing offers. Current supply trends and future demand are uncertain, and professional ownership alone does not establish reliable resale demand. Players considering a trade should evaluate the specific copy rather than assume collection history will lead to appreciation.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Valve-created finish from The 2021 Dust 2 Collection

• Souvenir availability across 6 packages

• Ownership by TaZ, tarik, and shox

• Distinctive rust-brown zebra pattern

The investment outlook for MP7 | Prey is medium-to-poor. Its low price level and Consumer Grade rarity provide limited support for a scarcity-led investment, despite its collection identity and Souvenir options. The main risk is mistaking recognizable ownership or collection history for evidence of future demand when supply trends remain uncertain.
