Looks like Epic Games is expanding its reach and brought yet another game development studio under its belt. The company announced a new acquisition and reported that Tonic Games Group, including Mediatonic, a studio known for its Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout game, will join the Epic Games family.

On its website, Mediatonic representatives said that this deal will help them “to accelerate plans to improve the game and bring Fall Guys to as many players as possible while continuing to support the community”.

There’s also a special FAQ section where developers touched on many questions raised by the community in regards to the news about the acquisition:

For the time being, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is gearing up for its release on Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms. The game is also scheduled for mobile debut in China sometime later this year. However, there is no news about Fall Guys mobile in the US or Europe. Who knows, maybe Epic Games will help Mediatonic to move up their development and release schedule. We’re counting on it!

Another point of speculation is Fall Guys’ potential transition to the free-to-play model, following the footsteps of games like Fortnite or Rocket League. While the official FAQ states that there’s “Nothing to announce right now!“, we’re pretty sure that the idea is up in the air and the
