Cuphead was dubbed as one of the best platformers released in recent years. While it was praised due to its engaging gameplay the most iconic feature of the game is its art style. Cuphead utilizes the 1930s style of animation and it seems that it will make a return… on Netflix.

Netflix, Studio MDHR, and King Features Syndicate have announced a new animated series called The Cuphead Show which will feature familiar faces (or should we say cups?) seen in the game. According to Netflix, the new show will be a ‘character-driven comedy following the unique misadventures of the impulsive Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman”.

The Cuphead Show will be produced by game creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer. The production team also features Dave Wasson who is known for his work on the recent Disney’s Mickey Mouse Shorts utilizing similar animation style and C.J. Kettler who recently produced another Netflix Original animated series called Carmen Sandiego.

While The Cuphead Show currently has no release date and no trailer, it’s nice to know that it’s coming. While you wait, you can download the game and see why the news got fans so excited.
