Tec-9 | Snek-9

Tec-9 | Snek-9 is a CS2 pistol skin with coral-snake-inspired red, yellow and black artwork. Scale-patterned bands cover the upper receiver and barrel shroud, while a mostly dark gray lower half creates contrast. The look suits colorful or reptile-themed loadouts, with every exterior from Factory New to Battle-Scarred plus StatTrak™ and Souvenir options.

Description

The Tec-9 | Snek-9 is a CS2 skin for the Terrorist-side Tec-9 pistol, using a Custom Paint Job finish. The underlying weapon is designed for mobile, close-quarters play and has a high magazine capacity. Coral-snake-inspired bands give the upper section a red, yellow and black identity. Small overlapping scales add detail within those colors, rather than leaving the bands as flat blocks. The dark gray lower section keeps the busy artwork concentrated around the shroud and receiver. A narrow snake motif on the magazine connects the otherwise plain lower half to the colorful top. The result suits players building a reptile-themed loadout or seeking a bright accent on a dark pistol. Buyers can compare exterior, exact float and standard, StatTrak or Souvenir versions rather than choosing solely from a preview image.

History and Origin

Tec-9 | Snek-9 was released on August 1, 2018, with the Horizon Case. It entered the game through the "Horizon Case Skins" update. The finish was created by PTP, a Steam Workshop community designer. Its collection placement is The Horizon Collection. The artwork takes its inspiration from coral snakes, translating their coloration into bands and scale details. On December 17, 2025, Valve retired the rare drop pool, and the Horizon Case stopped dropping. Existing cases remain available to buy and open, preserving the case-opening route without new case drops. Today, finished copies can also be purchased on the Steam Community Market or acquired through trades with other players.

Finish Style

The Snek-9 finish uses a Custom Paint Job to turn coral-snake coloration into a coordinated visual theme. Red, yellow and black bands cover the barrel shroud and upper receiver. Within those bands, a small overlapping scale pattern adds a fine reptile texture. The artwork wraps around the shroud's circular ventilation holes instead of treating the upper section as an uninterrupted surface. It also continues along the top of the pistol, extending the colored pattern beyond the side panel. The lower receiver, trigger guard and grip remain mostly dark gray, providing a plain contrast to the patterned upper assembly. The long magazine shares that dark base but carries a thin, winding red-and-yellow snake along its side. This balance of dense upper detail and quieter lower surfaces makes color placement a useful focus when inspecting listing images.

Float Value

The Tec-9 | Snek-9 has a float value range of 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so the finish spans the full condition range. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, but version availability is separate from the float and exterior of an individual copy.

Rarity and Popularity

Tec-9 | Snek-9 is a Mil-Spec Grade skin in The Horizon Collection. It has an 11.42% chance of appearing from a Horizon Case opening. Professional players adreN, electronic and volt own the skin, although that ownership alone does not establish broad market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Coral-snake colors create a distinct upper-receiver design

• Scale details add texture without covering every surface

• Dark lower parts balance the bright bands

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions offer different collecting options

Price Range

Live Tec-9 | Snek-9 prices range from $0.20 to $80.00. These bounds cover the skin as a whole, not a fixed exterior or version. Exterior and exact float help distinguish copies within the same finish, so the condition label alone is not the complete comparison. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions should be checked separately when evaluating a listing's features. Before choosing where to buy, compare the displayed CS2 skin price with the matching exterior, float and version.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Horizon Case

Opening a Horizon Case offers an 11.42% chance of receiving Tec-9 | Snek-9. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. Buying a finished copy instead avoids relying on a random case result.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy the Tec-9 | Snek-9 directly from existing listings on the Steam Community Market. This route allows selection of a listed copy rather than hoping for the skin from a case opening. Check the exterior, exact float and whether the listing is standard, StatTrak or Souvenir before comparing its price.

4. Trade with Other Players

The skin can also be acquired through player-to-player trades using items another player agrees to accept. Check that the offered copy has the intended exterior, float and version, since the finish exists in standard, StatTrak and Souvenir forms.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Horizon Case retirement ends new case drops, but existing cases can still add Snek-9 copies through openings. Its low price level makes it an accessible purchase, while professional ownership shows visibility rather than proving sustained trading demand. When buying, selling or trading, compare exterior, exact float and version; neither a reliable price trend nor market turnover is established.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Horizon Case no longer receives new drops

• Distinctive coral-snake-inspired artwork

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

• Ownership by adreN, electronic and volt

The Tec-9 | Snek-9 receives a medium investment rating, supported by its retired case source, accessible price level and professional ownership. That supports a measured collecting case rather than a confident short-term trading opportunity. The main risk is uncertain demand, while existing Horizon Cases can still produce additional copies.
