About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Quality determines a skin's exterior condition based on its float value. Sandstorm ranges from 0.10 to 0.70 and comes in Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, but not Factory New.

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity identifies a skin's grade and relates to its chance of appearing in a case. Sandstorm is Mil-Spec Grade, with a stated 19.98% chance from the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case.

How much does Tec-9 | Sandstorm cost?

Tec-9 | Sandstorm ranges from $0.35 to $40.00. The bounds cover the whole skin; compare individual listings by exterior, float, and version.

Which case contains Tec-9 | Sandstorm?

Tec-9 | Sandstorm comes from the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought and opened.

Is Tec-9 | Sandstorm available in Factory New?

No, Tec-9 | Sandstorm is not available in Factory New. Its 0.10 to 0.70 float range supports Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred.

Does Tec-9 | Sandstorm have StatTrak or Souvenir versions?

Yes, Tec-9 | Sandstorm has both StatTrak and Souvenir versions alongside regular copies. Check the version separately from the exterior and float value when comparing listings.

Short Description

Tec-9 | Sandstorm is a CS2 pistol skin with purple and beige hydrographic artwork across its body, grip, and magazine. Jagged markings and irregular pale patches give the finish a busy, angular appearance. It suits players building purple loadouts or looking for a patterned Terrorist-side pistol. Minimal Wear through Battle-Scarred exteriors are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

Tec-9 | Sandstorm applies a Custom Paint Job finish to the Terrorist-side Tec-9 pistol in CS2. The weapon's close-range role and high-capacity magazine provide the backdrop for a design that extends across its main visible surfaces. Purple forms the base, while beige patches interrupt it across the barrel shroud, receiver, and grip. The long magazine continues the color scheme rather than leaving the artwork confined to the upper body. Dark openings and recessed areas provide contrast against the painted surfaces without introducing another bright color. Its angular graphics suit players who prefer patterned equipment over a plain, single-color pistol. Professional players FalleN, aizy, and tarik have owned the skin. Buyers can compare the exterior, exact float value, and regular, StatTrak, or Souvenir version when choosing a copy.

History and Origin

Sandstorm was released in CS:GO on February 20, 2014, with the Operation Phoenix update. Its original case source was the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, which remains relevant to acquisition today. Steam Workshop community designer Algis created the finish, giving the skin a documented community-design origin. The skin belongs to The Phoenix Collection. The original release is distinct from current availability: existing skins remain available to buy, sell, and trade for use in CS2. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case no longer drops. That retirement prevents new case drops, but it does not make previously distributed cases unusable. Existing cases can still be purchased and opened, while buying an existing Sandstorm avoids the uncertainty of a case opening.

Finish Style

The Sandstorm finish uses the Custom Paint Job style with a hydrographic design built around purple and beige. The barrel shroud and receiver carry a busy arrangement of irregular beige patches over the purple base. Angular, jagged markings break up those surfaces, creating a graphic composition rather than a smooth color transition. The grip carries the same palette but includes larger purple areas that give the eye more space between markings. Purple also dominates the long magazine, where darker angular shapes continue the geometric character of the upper body. Pale beige accents near the magazine's bottom connect it visually to the patches above. The muzzle, ventilation holes, and recessed areas appear dark, while the magazine housing and several trim edges are beige. Together, these details create a patterned upper section balanced by quieter areas on the grip and magazine, making listing images useful for inspecting the artwork.

Float Value

Tec-9 | Sandstorm has a float range of 0.10 to 0.70, which defines the available span for individual copies. Its exteriors are Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. Regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir versions exist, but the version identifies an item option rather than its cosmetic condition, so the exterior and float still need checking separately.

Rarity and Popularity

Tec-9 | Sandstorm is a Mil-Spec Grade skin from The Phoenix Collection. Its stated chance from the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case is 19.98%, which describes the case-opening outcome rather than current marketplace availability. Ownership by FalleN, aizy, and tarik provides a professional-player connection, but that alone does not establish how quickly a listed copy will sell.

Why it’s Popular:

• Purple and beige artwork suits coordinated pistol loadouts

• Jagged graphics cover the body, grip, and magazine

• StatTrak and Souvenir options offer different collecting choices

• Accessible price positioning for a patterned Tec-9

• Documented ownership by FalleN, aizy, and tarik

Price Range

The live Tec-9 | Sandstorm price range is $0.35 to $40.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Compare Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred listings within their own exterior categories before narrowing the selection by exact float value. Regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies should also be identified separately rather than treated as interchangeable purchases. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, match the intended version and exterior, then inspect the item image and current asking price before buying.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case

Open the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case for a chance to receive Sandstorm, with a stated skin probability of 19.98%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. Opening is a chance-based route and does not let buyers select the resulting skin or its exterior.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy Tec-9 | Sandstorm directly from an available Steam Community Market listing. Check the exterior and whether the listing is regular, StatTrak, or Souvenir before choosing a copy. Buying the finished skin avoids the uncertainty of opening its case, although the available selection depends on current listings.

4. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player who owns a Sandstorm copy rather than relying on a case-opening result. Confirm the exact skin, exterior, float value, and version in the proposed exchange. The trade route depends on finding an owner willing to accept the offered items.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired case source limits new case supply, although opening existing Operation Phoenix Weapon Cases can still add Sandstorm copies to circulation. Professional ownership offers some evidence of player interest, but does not establish resale speed or future price growth. Traders should compare matching exteriors and versions before deciding whether to buy, sell, or trade, rather than treating every copy as equivalent.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case source with no new case drops

• Distinctive purple-and-beige hydrographic artwork

• Documented ownership by professional players

• StatTrak and Souvenir options for collectors

• Accessible price positioning for pistol-skin buyers

The investment rating is medium, balancing accessible pricing, documented professional ownership, and a retired case source. Those factors support considering it as a playable holding, but do not demonstrate an established upward price trend. The main risk is that existing case openings can add skins while future resale demand remains uncertain.
