Tec-9 | Groundwater

Tec-9 | Groundwater is a CS2 pistol skin for the Terrorist side, featuring a restrained Solid Color finish. Muted olive green covers the main body, while a pale tan magazine provides contrast. Its simple military-style palette suits players who prefer plain equipment over decorative artwork. All exteriors are available, including Souvenir versions, but there is no StatTrak™ option.

Description

Tec-9 | Groundwater applies an understated olive-and-tan finish to a Terrorist-side pistol in CS2. The weapon is built for close-range encounters and combines mobility with a high-capacity magazine. Its painted receiver, perforated barrel shroud and grip create a consistent olive-green body without elaborate graphics. A pale magazine breaks up that color scheme, giving the long lower section a distinct visual identity. The restrained look suits earth-toned loadouts and players who prefer solid colors rather than illustrated finishes. Regular and Souvenir versions offer different collecting options without changing the underlying Groundwater design. Documented owners include flusha, kennyS and dupreeh, providing a supported professional connection without establishing wider demand. Buyers should compare exterior, float value and version before choosing a listing and inspect the listed copy's appearance.

History and Origin

Tec-9 | Groundwater was released on November 27, 2013, as part of The Italy Collection. The skin was introduced in the DreamHack 2013 update. Valve created the skin, rather than a community designer contributing it. The Souvenir version has package origins in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and the EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package. Today, existing copies can be purchased on the Steam Community Market, allowing buyers to choose a specific listed item. Trading with other players is another current route, separate from the skin's original release. Opening a matching Souvenir package provides an additional acquisition option, specifically for buyers pursuing the Souvenir version rather than a regular copy.

Finish Style

Groundwater uses the Solid Color finish style, with individual weapon parts painted in a restrained olive-drab palette. Muted olive green covers the receiver, perforated barrel shroud and pistol grip, keeping the main body visually consistent. The long magazine is pale tan, creating a clear color break beneath the green upper section. Its dark base plate adds another contrast at the bottom of the magazine without introducing decorative detail. Dark surfaces remain visible through the shroud's round openings and around the trigger and upper mechanism. A fine textured panel appears on the grip, giving that area a different surface character from the surrounding parts. Most other visible surfaces look smooth and matte, supporting the finish's plain, functional appearance. There is no decorative artwork or repeating pattern, so the visual identity comes from color placement, contrasting components and the weapon's exposed details.

Float Value

The Tec-9 | Groundwater float range runs from 0.06 to 0.80. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so buyers can compare the full exterior selection. Souvenir versions are available; version availability is separate from the cosmetic condition represented by exterior and float.

Rarity and Popularity

Tec-9 | Groundwater has Consumer Grade rarity and belongs to The Italy Collection. Its regular and Souvenir versions provide distinct ownership options, while the rarity grade remains separate from exterior condition. Its drop chance from The Italy Collection is 16.03%, or about 1 in 6 drops.

Why it’s Popular:

• Muted olive green suits restrained, earth-toned loadouts

• Pale tan magazine adds contrast without decorative artwork

• All exteriors are available for comparison

• Souvenir versions offer historical package connections

Price Range

The live Tec-9 | Groundwater price range is $0.02 to $561.38. Those bounds cover the whole item and should not be treated as a quote for a particular exterior or version. Regular copies offer a low-cost entry point, while Souvenir versions provide a separate option for collectors to evaluate. Compare CS2 skin prices within the same exterior and version before assessing differences in individual float values. When deciding which copy to buy, inspect the listed item rather than assuming every example within an exterior has identical cosmetic condition.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Souvenir Package

Open a DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package or an EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package for the Souvenir acquisition route. These packages are associated with the Souvenir version of Groundwater, not a StatTrak version. Buying an existing copy instead allows the buyer to select its listed exterior and float.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Tec-9 | Groundwater can be purchased on the Steam Community Market as an existing item. Compare regular and Souvenir listings separately, checking the exterior and float details before buying. There is no StatTrak version to include in the comparison.

4. Trade with Other Players

Groundwater can also be acquired through a trade with another player. Check whether the offered copy is regular or Souvenir, then verify its exterior and float against the item being exchanged. The same attributes matter when preparing a copy to sell or trade onward.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Regular copies occupy a low entry-price tier, while Souvenir versions give traders a separate category to compare. Documented professional ownership provides a connection to recognizable players, but it does not establish sustained demand or a reliable resale trend. Future supply changes are uncertain, so comparisons should focus on current listings, exterior, float and version rather than assumed scarcity or appreciation.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Historical Souvenir package connections

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Valve-created finish from The Italy Collection

• Distinct olive-and-tan visual identity

The editorial investment rating is medium-to-poor, reflecting Consumer Grade rarity and inexpensive regular listings rather than demonstrated scarcity. Historical Souvenir origins and professional ownership support collecting interest, but neither establishes future price growth. The main risk is uncertain future demand and supply, leaving limited evidence for an appreciation-focused purchase.
