Short Description

The Tec-9 | Avalanche is a CS2 pistol skin combining pale cyan and white graphics with dark gray sections and bright orange accents. Its angular artwork suits players building a futuristic loadout with contrasting colors. The finish comes in every exterior, from Factory New to Battle-Scarred. StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions provide additional options alongside the standard skin.

Description

The Tec-9 | Avalanche gives the Terrorist-side pistol a futuristic look through its Custom Paint Job finish. The underlying weapon supports mobile, close-range play and carries a high-capacity magazine. Pale cyan and white dominate the upper receiver and long magazine, making those sections the visual focus. Black and dark gray areas provide contrast without removing the geometric detailing. Small orange highlights introduce another color around the controls and magazine base. The look suits players who prefer layered graphics over a plain or uniformly colored pistol. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions let buyers choose more than just a cosmetic condition. When comparing this CS2 skin, the exterior, exact float value and version are useful starting points for narrowing down listings.

History and Origin

The Tec-9 | Avalanche was released on December 11, 2015, alongside the Revolver Case. Its introduction formed part of the update named "Revolver Case Skins". Guardian Gear, a Steam Workshop community designer, created the finish. The skin belongs to The Revolver Case Collection, which also determines its collection-based trade-up route. Its original case remains a way to obtain the skin through opening existing stock. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, the Revolver Case no longer drops, although existing cases can still be bought and opened. Current acquisition also includes eligible trade-up contracts, marketplace purchases and trades with other players.

Finish Style

The Custom Paint Job presents futuristic, hydrographic-style artwork through a contrasting mix of light panels and dark weapon parts. Pale cyan and white cover the upper receiver and extend down the long magazine. Angular fragments and streak-like markings make these lighter sections visually busy rather than uniformly colored. The mostly black barrel shroud has large circular openings bordered by pale cyan. Dark gray covers the lower receiver and grip, with white geometric accents and narrow cyan edging. Bright orange appears on the trigger, a small upper control and near the magazine base. Fine stippling, white panel outlines and a circled A symbol add detail to the grip. The quieter lower sections balance the dense graphics above, giving the finish distinct areas of decoration and contrast.

Float Value

The Tec-9 | Avalanche has a float value range of 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with none of these categories excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, but version availability is separate from the exterior's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The Tec-9 | Avalanche belongs to the Restricted rarity grade. Its stated chance of appearing from a Revolver Case opening is 2.66%, so opening the case does not ensure this particular result. Professional owners include allu, shox and daps, providing evidence of ownership without establishing future trading demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Pale cyan and white graphics create a distinctive futuristic look

• Orange accents add contrast around the controls and magazine

• Every exterior is available for different condition preferences

• StatTrak and Souvenir options broaden the choice of versions

Price Range

The live Tec-9 | Avalanche price range is $0.82 to $24.73. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than a particular exterior or version. Exterior and float value help distinguish listings, while standard, StatTrak and Souvenir copies should be compared separately. Buyers looking to buy, sell or trade can narrow comparisons to the same version and condition before assessing an asking price. Inspecting the individual copy also helps connect its appearance with the listing's condition details.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Revolver Case

Players can obtain the skin by opening a Revolver Case, with a stated 2.66% chance of this result. Existing cases remain available to buy and open, but the case no longer drops. Purchasing the skin directly avoids relying on a random case outcome.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A trade-up using 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Revolver Case Collection produces 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Avalanche is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Restricted skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Players can buy the Tec-9 | Avalanche directly through the Steam Community Market. Comparing the listed exterior, float and version helps identify a suitable copy without opening a case.

5. Trade with Other Players

Trading with other players offers a route to exchange existing items for the skin. Both sides should check the specific copy's exterior, float and version before agreeing to the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retirement of the Revolver Case's drop route limits new case supply, but existing cases can still produce additional Avalanche copies. Professional ownership supports some interest in the finish, while broader demand and price trends remain uncertain. Practical comparisons should separate standard, StatTrak and Souvenir listings, then match exterior and float rather than treating every copy as equivalent.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case drop route limits new case supply

• Ownership by allu, shox and daps

• Distinctive cyan, white and orange artwork

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

The editorial investment rating is medium, reflecting the retired case drop route, documented professional ownership and distinctive finish. These factors support collecting interest but do not establish sustained demand or a rising price trend. The main risk is that existing cases can continue adding skins while future buyer demand remains uncertain.
