Tec-9 | Cracked Opal

The Tec-9 | Cracked Opal is a CS2 pistol skin for the Terrorist side, combining brown wood-like surfaces with bright mineral accents. Turquoise cracks spread across the receiver, barrel shroud, grip, and magazine. Its earthy base and colorful details suit players who want an intricate pistol finish. All exterior categories are available, along with StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

The Tec-9 | Cracked Opal gives the Terrorist-side pistol a wood-and-opal treatment in CS2. Its Custom Paint Job uses dark brown streaks crossed by vivid turquoise fissures rather than a plain block of color. The receiver and perforated barrel shroud carry the same fractured theme as the grip and long magazine. Pale blue, green, and pink accents suggest mineral color beneath the brown outer layer. The look suits players building earthy loadouts who still want bright accents on their pistol. Professional players olofmeister, tarik, and AdreN have owned the skin, giving it a connection to professional play. Available options cover the full exterior range, with StatTrak and Souvenir versions also supported. Buyers choosing a specific copy can compare its float value, exterior, version, and visible painted details.

History and Origin

Cracked Opal was released on September 14, 2017, alongside the Spectrum 2 Case. Its arrival formed part of the Spectrum 2 Case Skins update. The finish was created by bee, a Steam Workshop community designer. It belongs to The Spectrum 2 Collection, which identifies its collection origin separately from its weapon type. Its artistic concept combines the appearance of aged, cracked wood with opal beneath the surface. Valve retired the rare case drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, the Spectrum 2 Case no longer drops, although existing cases remain available to buy and open. Today, obtaining the skin is separate from that historic release: players can open an existing case, buy a listed copy, or trade with another player.

Finish Style

Cracked Opal uses a Custom Paint Job to turn the pistol's surfaces into a fractured, wood-like design. Brown dominates the receiver, perforated barrel shroud, grip, and long magazine. Darker streaks and uneven patches give the painted areas a textured appearance rather than a uniform color. Bright turquoise cracks divide that brown base into irregular shapes across much of the weapon. Within some fissures, pale blue, green, and pink details suggest the opal hidden beneath the wood-inspired layer. Dark barrel-shroud openings and the space around the trigger contrast with the surrounding painted surfaces. The crack pattern continues onto the magazine and grip, keeping the design connected across separate components. Its visual character comes from the contrast between muted brown areas and colorful fractures, not from a simple stripe or emblem.

Float Value

The Tec-9 | Cracked Opal float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00. It is available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior category excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, but those version labels should be checked separately from the exterior and float when comparing listings.

Rarity and Popularity

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal is a Mil-Spec Grade skin from The Spectrum 2 Collection. Its individual chance of appearing when opening the Spectrum 2 Case is 11.42%, which does not guarantee a particular opening result. Professional ownership includes olofmeister, tarik, and AdreN, while current acquisition remains possible through existing cases, market purchases, and player trades.

Why it’s Popular:

• Turquoise cracks contrast with an earthy brown base

• Opal-inspired highlights add color across the pistol

• Available across the full exterior range

• StatTrak and Souvenir options offer additional collecting choices

Price Range

The live Tec-9 | Cracked Opal price range is $0.16 to $30.00. These bounds cover the skin as a whole, rather than representing fixed prices for particular exteriors or versions. Compare Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred listings separately when evaluating the CS2 skin price. Check the exact float and whether a listing is a standard, StatTrak, or Souvenir copy before deciding to buy. When preparing to sell or trade, use comparable listings rather than assuming every copy should match either end of the range.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Spectrum 2 Case

Open an existing Spectrum 2 Case for a chance to receive Cracked Opal. The skin's individual opening chance is 11.42%, so opening a case does not guarantee it. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy Tec-9 | Cracked Opal directly through the Steam Community Market by choosing an available listing. Check its exterior and version rather than assuming every listing represents the same type of copy.

4. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player who owns the skin to obtain a specific copy without opening a case. Compare the offered item's exterior, float, and version before agreeing on the exchange. This route depends on finding an owner willing to trade the copy being considered.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retirement of the Spectrum 2 Case removes new case drops, while existing cases can still produce additional Cracked Opal copies when opened. Professional ownership provides a supported connection to competitive players, but it does not establish current buying demand or resale speed. Compare available exteriors and versions carefully, since price history and trading volume remain uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case supply receives no new drops

• Ownership includes established professional players

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions broaden collecting options

• Distinctive wood-and-opal design offers visual appeal

The editorial investment rating for Tec-9 | Cracked Opal is medium. Retired case supply, professional ownership, and an accessible price profile support its appeal as a modest collectible rather than a return-driven purchase. The main risk is uncertain resale demand, especially while existing cases can still generate copies at the supported opening odds.
