Tec-9 | Garter-9

Tec-9 | Garter-9 is a CS2 pistol skin with a green hydrographic snakeskin finish. Dark olive patches and yellow-green outlines cover the upper section, while the lower parts stay subdued. Its earthy palette suits players building a green-themed Terrorist loadout. Factory New through Battle-Scarred exteriors are available, alongside Souvenir versions.

Description

The Tec-9 | Garter-9 is a CS2 pistol finish from The Boreal Collection. It decorates the Terrorist-side Tec-9 with a green snakeskin design rather than a graphic illustration. The weapon itself combines a large magazine with a close-range role suited to mobile play. Patterned sections occupy the barrel shroud and upper receiver, giving the top of the pistol a busy appearance. Mostly solid lower parts provide a quieter contrast without abandoning the olive color scheme. This balance suits players who prefer an organic pattern with restrained colors over bright, multicolored artwork. Standard and Souvenir versions provide separate options for buyers choosing a copy for their inventory. Comparing the exact float, exterior and version helps buyers narrow down listings without treating every Garter-9 as interchangeable.

History and Origin

Tec-9 | Garter-9 was introduced on March 31, 2025 as part of The Boreal Collection. Its release accompanied the Spring 2025 Skins update. Valve created the finish, so its origin is not credited to a community designer. Today, existing copies can be purchased directly through Eneba Skins or the Steam Community Market. Player-to-player trading offers another way to obtain a particular copy rather than a random result. Trade Up Contracts can also produce the skin using Consumer Grade inputs from The Boreal Collection. That contract route selects among the collection's Industrial Grade skins, so Garter-9 is a possible outcome rather than a certain reward.

Finish Style

Garter-9 uses a Hydrographic finish built around green snakeskin markings. The barrel shroud and upper receiver carry the patterned portion, concentrating the visual detail along the pistol's upper profile. Dark olive patches sit inside yellow-green outlines, creating irregular shapes that resemble scales. Brighter yellow-green bands near the middle interrupt the darker patches and give the pattern some variation. The lower receiver remains mostly solid dark olive, separating it visually from the patterned upper section. The pistol grip follows that subdued color scheme and includes a textured panel. Its long magazine is plain gray-green, with a light vertical highlight visible along the left edge. Together, these details create a busy upper section supported by relatively clean lower components, keeping the snakeskin motif as the main visual feature.

Float Value

The Tec-9 | Garter-9 float range runs from 0.00 to 0.70. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, covering the full exterior lineup. Standard and Souvenir versions exist; version availability is separate from the cosmetic condition identified by float and exterior.

Rarity and Popularity

Tec-9 | Garter-9 belongs to the Industrial Grade rarity tier. Its probability within The Boreal Collection is 1.78%, or about 1 in 56. Professional owners include fnx and Shara, although their ownership alone does not establish broad resale demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Green snakeskin gives the upper section a distinctive organic pattern

• Dark olive lower parts suit restrained green-themed loadouts

• Souvenir versions provide an additional collecting option

• Accessible pricing makes it approachable as a playable pistol skin

Price Range

The live Tec-9 | Garter-9 CS2 skin price range is $0.02 to $1.52. These bounds cover the whole item rather than fixed exterior or version assignments. When buying, compare Factory New through Battle-Scarred listings by exact float and visible condition. Standard and Souvenir copies should be checked separately instead of assuming they follow identical pricing. For a sell or trade decision, compare like-for-like listings so that exterior and version differences do not distort the comparison.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can exchange 10 Consumer Grade skins from The Boreal Collection for 1 Industrial Grade skin from that collection. Garter-9 is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Industrial Grade skins.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Tec-9 | Garter-9 can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market. Check the listing's exterior, exact float and standard or Souvenir status before choosing an existing copy.

4. Trade with Other Players

Players can obtain the finish through player-to-player trades using items they already own. Inspect the offered copy's float, exterior and version, then confirm that the item being received matches the intended trade.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Garter-9 sits in an inexpensive price segment, but low entry cost alone does not make it a reliable short-term flip. Circulating supply, listing depth and sustained resale demand remain uncertain. Buyers and sellers should compare standard and Souvenir copies separately, then check exact float and exterior before agreeing on a purchase or trade.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Distinctive green snakeskin design

• Souvenir versions add a collecting option

• Professional ownership by fnx and Shara

• Accessible pricing for themed loadouts

The Tec-9 | Garter-9 receives a medium investment rating, supported by accessible pricing, Souvenir availability and professional ownership. This is an editorial opinion, not financial advice. The main risk is that uncertain supply and resale demand offer little basis for expecting price growth or easy profits.
