He’s a 5-star Wind damage dealer whose kit revolves around implanting Weaknesses on Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate alike, and his own Talent rewards him further once enough Weakness types pile up.

How to Play Anaxa: Rotation and Tips

Anaxa in Honkai Star Rail

Anaxa’s rotation is built entirely around stacking Weaknesses, then converting them into damage. His Skill, Fractal, Exiles Fallacy, hits one enemy and then bounces to others, with each hit landing a random Weakness on its target. Spam this whenever you can afford the SP, since it does most of the heavy lifting turn to turn.

His Ultimate, Sprouting Life Sculpts Earth, is the real payoff. It hits every enemy for Wind damage and implants all seven elemental Weaknesses on the entire field at once, which also delays enemies without Control RES. Save it for right after a tough enemy’s own turn so it eats into their next action.

His Talent, Tetrad Wisdom Reigns Thrice, also adds a Weakness on every hit, and once a target racks up five or more Weakness types, it enters Qualitative Disclosure. Anaxa deals bonus damage to targets in that state and gets one free extra Skill hit after his next Basic ATK or Skill lands on them, so build toward that threshold before your big damage windows.

Best Light Cones for Anaxa

Life Should Be Cast to Flames Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail

Life Should Be Cast to Flames is Anaxa’s signature and by far his best option. It restores Energy at the start of his turn, and once he’s implanted a Weakness on a target, it boosts his damage against that enemy by up to 100 percent while also cutting their DEF by up to 24 percent for two turns.

Between the Energy return and the raw damage multiplier, no other 4-star or more F2P-friendly alternatives come close.

Into the Unreachable Veil Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail

Into the Unreachable Veil is a strong alternative if you already own it from another Erudition character. It raises CRIT Rate outright and, after using his Ultimate, boosts his Skill and Ultimate damage by up to 100 percent for three turns, on top of refunding a Skill Point.

The Great Cosmic Enterprise Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail

The Great Cosmic Enterprise is the best free-to-play pick. Since Anaxa’s Ultimate implants every elemental Weakness at once, this cone’s damage bonus scales off the number of Weakness Types on the enemy, and he’ll usually be sitting at the maximum bonus almost immediately after using it.

Best Relic and Planar Ornament Sets

Genius of Brilliant Stars relic set in Honkai Star Rail

Genius of Brilliant Stars is Anaxa’s best 4-piece Relic set. The 2-piece bonus adds Quantum DMG, which he can’t use as a Wind character, but he equips it purely for the 4-piece effect.

It lets him ignore 10 percent of an enemy’s DEF, plus another 10 percent if that enemy has a Quantum Weakness. Since Anaxa can implant every Weakness Type through his own kit, he can trigger that Quantum condition on command instead of relying on the enemy’s native weaknesses.

Rutilant Arena Planar Ornament set in Honkai Star Rail

Rutilant Arena is the clear pick for his Planar Ornament slot. It adds CRIT Rate outright, and once his CRIT Rate hits 70 percent or higher, it boosts his Basic ATK and Skill damage by 20 percent, which is an easy threshold to clear once his relics and Body piece are in place.

Anaxa’s Stat Priorities

  • Priority 1: SPD (until desired breakpoint)
  • Priority 2: CRIT Rate
  • Priority 3: CRIT DMG

🎯 Ideal Stat Goals: Aim for 2,600 ATK outside combat, and target a 134 SPD breakpoint in battle. Flat substats are fine filler once percentage rolls run dry. Anaxa’s substats favor Speed early, then swing hard into CRIT once he’s fast enough to act when he needs to.

Anaxa’s Trace Priorities

TracesPriority LevelWhy?
Basic ATK: Pain, Brews TruthMediumDeals the least damage of his four core abilities, so it’s fine to level last.
Skill: Fractal, Exiles FallacyHighestHis main damage source every turn, since it hits multiple times and bounces across enemies.
Ultimate: Sprouting Life Sculpts EarthHighA hard-hitting AoE nuke that also blankets every enemy in Weaknesses.
Talent: Tetrad Wisdom Reigns ThriceHighestBuilds toward Qualitative Disclosure, which boosts his damage and grants a free extra Skill hit.
Bonus Ability: Roaming SignifierHighImproves Basic ATK Energy generation, which matters most before an enemy hits Qualitative Disclosure.
Bonus Ability: Imperative HiatusHighestIncreases his damage based on how many Erudition characters are in the party.
Bonus Ability: Qualitative ShiftHighestLets him ignore enemy DEF, scaling with how many Weaknesses that enemy already has.

Best Anaxa Teams (Overall, F2P, and Alternatives)

Listed below are Anaxa’s best overall team, F2P team, and alternative teammates to help shape your teambuilding choices based on which units are actually available in your current roster.

Best Overall Anaxa Team

Best Anaxa Team (Overall)Role
AnaxaDPS
CyreneSupport
CerydraSupport
Dan Heng Permansor TerraeSupport

This hypercarry setup leans entirely on Anaxa’s own damage. Cyrene‘s Ultimate grants Anaxa an immediate extra action, a Skill Point, and additional bounce instances on his Skill, which lets him chain through his rotation far faster than usual.

Cerydra lets him fire off his Skill twice in a row to stack her Charges quickly, and her SPD buff can even free up his boot slot for ATK percent instead.

Dan Heng Permansor Terrae rounds out the team with steady sustain, a flat ATK buff, and extra multipliers that push Anaxa’s damage even higher.

Best F2P Anaxa Team

Best Anaxa Team (F2P)Role
AnaxaDPS
Trailblazer RemembranceSupport
AstaSupport
LynxSupport

Remembrance Trailblazer and Asta both cover Anaxa’s support needs, and thanks to Anaxa’s Weakness implants, Asta’s Skill can chip away at an enemy’s Toughness Bar far faster than usual

Lynx keeps the team topped up so Anaxa can keep attacking instead of playing around his own survival.

Best Anaxa Team Alternatives

The Herta icon in Honkai Star Rail

The Herta turns his comp into a synergistic dual-DPS setup instead of a single hypercarry lineup. Both she and Anaxa have Bonus Abilities that boost the whole party’s damage, and running him alongside her fulfills her own Erudition-teammate requirement while feeding her a steady stream of Energy from his multi-hit Skill.

Tribbie icon in Honkai Star Rail

Tribbie is the best buffer for a dual-DPS Anaxa and The Herta team. Her teamwide RES PEN and DMG Taken buffs apply to both damage dealers at once, and the RES PEN in particular lets Anaxa’s Weakness-implant damage hit even harder.

Robin icon in Honkai Star Rail

Robin works well if you’d rather build Anaxa around action advances instead of a hypercarry chain. Since he attacks twice per action already, he triggers her Concerto damage far more often than most characters, on top of her usual teamwide buffs.

Sunday icon in Honkai Star Rail

Sunday turns Anaxa into a burst machine, letting him string together several actions and an Ultimate almost back to back. Anaxa also benefits heavily from Sunday’s own damage amplification buffs on top of the extra turns.

Ruan Mei icon in Honkai Star Rail

Ruan Mei is a flexible pick if you need SPD and Break Effect support instead. Her SPD and damage buffs speed up Anaxa’s rotation, and her Break Effect boost helps him Weakness Break enemies faster once he’s stacked enough Weakness Types.

No matter which of teammate you slot in, the constant that matters most is Weakness coverage. Anaxa scales with how many Weakness Types are on the field, so any teammate who helps him implant, exploit, or capitalize on those Weaknesses faster is worth a spot on his team.

Anaxa Eidolons: Which Are Worth It

EidolonsReturn on InvestmentExplanation
E1: Magician, Isolated by StarsMediumRefunds a Skill Point on first use and briefly lowers a target’s DEF, a small but replaceable early boost.
E2: Soul, True to HistoryHighestTriggers a free Weakness Implant on every enemy that enters battle and cuts their All-Type RES by 20 percent.
E3: Pupil, Etched into CosmosLowOnly raises his Ultimate and Basic ATK levels, useful but far behind the other Eidolons here.
E4: Blaze, Plunged to CanyonHighAdds a stacking ATK buff on Skill use, a straightforward damage increase.
E5: Embryo, Set Beyond VortexLowRaises his Skill and Talent levels only, similar in value to E3.
E6: Everything Is in EverythingHighest (Whale Territory)Multiplies his total damage output and makes Imperative Hiatus’s bonuses unconditional instead of scaling off party composition.

For most players, Eidolon 2 is the practical stopping point, since it delivers the highest damage and utility boost with the least investment.

Verdict: Is Anaxa Worth Building in 2026?

Anaxa’s Tier Ratings
Overall RatingS
Endgame RatingsMemory of Chaos: S

Pure Fiction: S

Apocalyptic Shadow: S

Anaxa is worth building if you want a hypercarry that doesn’t need a perfect team to function. His Weakness-implant kit lets him get real value out of top-tier premium comps, but he still performs solidly on almost any team thanks to his kit.

His investment curve is also forgiving. A single copy (E0) is all you really need for a solid performance across most team compositions. Eidolon 2 is the only upgrade worth chasing beyond that, since it’s a genuine damage and utility gain. His signature Light Cone is a very good upgrade, but his more accessible alternatives are good enough for him to comfortably clear major endgame content.
