About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Quality describes cosmetic condition through a skin's float value and exterior. For Ol' Rusty, compare the float and listing image; the rusted artwork is part of the finish, not a separate version.

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity classifies a skin's availability from its case. Ol' Rusty is Mil-Spec Grade and has an 11.42% chance from the Fracture Case; exterior and version are separate attributes.

Short Description

SG 553 | Ol' Rusty is a CS2 rifle skin that combines dark blue-gray metal with reddish-brown rust patches. Its mottled, weathered appearance suits players who prefer an understated industrial look over bold decoration. Factory New through Battle-Scarred exteriors are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions, giving buyers different condition and collecting options to compare.

Description

SG 553 | Ol' Rusty gives the Terrorist-side scoped rifle a corroded steel appearance in CS2. The weapon offers a scoped option for long-range engagements, while this finish emphasizes weathered metal. Blue-gray surfaces and brown staining establish a restrained palette rather than a bright graphic design. Rust patches spread across the receiver, with heavier brown coloring on the barrel, handguard and upper stock. A faint name stamp above the trigger gives the otherwise mottled finish a small identifying detail. The look suits industrial-themed loadouts and players who want visible texture without elaborate illustration. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir copies offer separate purchasing choices, so the version deserves attention alongside the exterior. Buyers can compare listing images and float values to choose a copy that matches their preferred condition.

History and Origin

SG 553 | Ol' Rusty arrived in CS:GO on August 6, 2020, alongside the Fracture Case. Its release formed part of the Fracture Case Skins update. Steam Workshop community designer Ertz created the finish. The skin belongs to The Fracture Collection, connecting its collection identity with its original case release. Its design concept starts with polished steel whose appearance has been changed by moisture. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Fracture Case no longer drops. Existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened for a chance at the skin. Current buyers can therefore choose between opening an existing container and acquiring an already-created copy through a marketplace or player trade.

Finish Style

Ol' Rusty uses the Gunsmith finish style to present a mottled, corroded-metal look. The receiver is dark blue-gray, broken up by irregular reddish-brown patches and streaks across its sides. Rusty brown dominates the barrel, vented handguard and upper stock, with darker shading inside grooves and openings. The magazine contrasts with those areas through pale blue-gray metal marked by long rust-colored streaks. A gray pistol grip ends in a brown base, continuing the subdued palette below the receiver. Dark gray scope surfaces and stock supports have lighter metallic edges and scattered brown marks. The faint "Ol' Rusty" stamp sits above the trigger area rather than becoming a large decorative centerpiece. Together, these details create a weathered finish whose character comes from uneven coloring instead of a bold repeating pattern.

Float Value

SG 553 | Ol' Rusty has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.70. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so no exterior category is excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, but version availability should be checked separately from the cosmetic condition of an individual listing.

Rarity and Popularity

Ol' Rusty is a Mil-Spec Grade rifle skin from The Fracture Collection. Its chance of appearing when opening the Fracture Case is 11.42%, making case opening a chance-based route rather than a direct purchase. Professional players GuardiaN, kennyS and f0rest own the skin, although ownership does not change its rarity classification or exterior availability.

Why it’s Popular:

• Rust-streaked steel gives the rifle a weathered industrial character

• Muted blue-gray and brown colors suit understated loadouts

• A subtle name stamp adds an identifying detail

• StatTrak and Souvenir options offer different collecting choices

Price Range

The live SG 553 | Ol' Rusty price range is $0.04 to $17.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. When comparing its CS2 skin price, separate standard, StatTrak and Souvenir listings before evaluating individual offers. Check the exact float value and exterior together, rather than treating every copy within a wear category as identical. Listing images also help buyers assess the appearance they are choosing before deciding which offer to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Fracture Case

Open a Fracture Case for a chance to receive Ol' Rusty, with an 11.42% drop chance. The case no longer drops, but existing containers remain available to buy on the market and open.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy SG 553 | Ol' Rusty directly through the Steam Community Market by selecting an available listing. Check the exterior and whether the item is standard, StatTrak or Souvenir before comparing it with other offers.

4. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player who owns the skin to acquire an existing copy rather than opening a case. Confirm the exact item, exterior, float and version before accepting the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired Fracture Case receives no new drops, but existing cases can still produce this Mil-Spec Grade skin when opened. Regular versions occupy a low price level, while professional ownership alone does not establish strong resale demand. Players looking to buy, sell or trade should compare matching versions and exteriors, with price trends and trading liquidity remaining uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired Fracture Case supply receives no new drops

• Distinctive rusted finish with a subtle identifying stamp

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions broaden collecting options

• Ownership by GuardiaN, kennyS and f0rest

SG 553 | Ol' Rusty receives a medium-to-poor investment rating, balancing retired case supply and professional ownership against its Mil-Spec Grade availability. Its low regular-version price level makes it more convincing as a loadout purchase than a growth-focused holding. The main risk is that continued case openings and uncertain resale demand could limit appreciation despite the end of new case drops.
