Short Description

SG 553 | Danger Close is a CS2 rifle skin with a hand-painted metallic-fire design. Bright orange-red detailing contrasts with dark patches across the weapon's body and muted gray components. The look suits players building a warm-colored loadout without covering every part in bright paint. All exterior tiers are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

SG 553 | Danger Close gives the Terrorist-side scoped rifle a fiery appearance in CS2. Its Gunsmith finish combines metallic character with angular, hand-painted markings rather than a uniform color scheme. The strongest orange-red accents sit around the upper handguard, drawing attention toward the rifle's body. Dark barrel and scope sections keep the brighter detailing visually contained. Muted gray elements provide contrast for players who prefer colorful accents over an entirely bright weapon. Professional players Hyper, bodyy and XANTARES have owned the skin, though ownership should not be confused with an endorsement. Buyers can choose between standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions according to their preferred item type. Eneba Skins lets buyers compare listings by exterior, float value and version before choosing a copy.

History and Origin

SG 553 | Danger Close entered CS:GO on December 6, 2018. Its release was part of the Danger Zone Case Skins update. The Danger Zone Case introduced the finish as one of its possible weapon-skin results. Community designer dC created the skin through the Steam Workshop. It belongs to The Danger Zone Collection, which connects the finish to its original case lineup. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Danger Zone Case no longer drops. Existing cases can still be bought and opened, preserving that acquisition route without new cases entering through drops. Today, existing skins can also be purchased directly through marketplaces or acquired through trades with other players.

Finish Style

The Gunsmith finish presents a metallic-fire theme through hand-painted detailing concentrated on the rifle's body. Bright orange-red paint covers the upper handguard and provides the most vivid section of the design. The receiver carries darker red, brown and black patches with a metallic sheen. Angular streaks and block-like markings extend across the handguard and receiver, giving the painted areas a fragmented appearance. The lower handguard remains mostly black, with orange accents around its ribbed sections. Both the barrel and scope are dark, leaving the central painted areas to carry the color. Muted gray on the magazine and pistol grip creates another break from the warmer tones. The stock combines a dark striped upper section with a pale gray frame, keeping its detailing separate from the busier receiver.

Float Value

The float value range for SG 553 | Danger Close is 0.02 to 0.80. It is available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior tier missing. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are available, while float and exterior describe cosmetic condition rather than the item's version.

Rarity and Popularity

SG 553 | Danger Close has Mil-Spec Grade rarity. Its stated chance of appearing from the Danger Zone Case is 11.42%, so opening a case does not guarantee this specific finish. Although the case no longer drops, existing cases can still produce the skin when opened.

Why it’s Popular:

• Bright orange-red detailing gives the rifle a distinct focal point

• Dark components balance the metallic-fire color scheme

• Every exterior tier is available

• StatTrak and Souvenir options broaden the choice of versions

Price Range

The live CS2 skin price range for SG 553 | Danger Close is $0.11 to $52.69. These bounds cover the whole skin and should not be treated as fixed prices for particular variants. Exterior and exact float value help distinguish listings within the available range. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions should also be compared separately rather than assumed to have identical pricing. Buyers should inspect the listed version and condition, while sellers can use comparable listings to assess their own copy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Danger Zone Case

Open the Danger Zone Case for a chance to obtain SG 553 | Danger Close. The stated chance is 11.42%, so the result remains uncertain rather than a direct purchase of this finish. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

SG 553 | Danger Close can be purchased directly on the Steam Community Market. Check the exterior and version of the listing carefully, since a standard copy, a StatTrak copy and a Souvenir copy are different purchase choices.

4. Trade with Other Players

The skin can also be obtained through trades with other players. Compare the offered item's exterior, exact float and version before accepting, especially when exchanging a different skin rather than buying directly.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired Danger Zone Case limits replenishment of unopened case supply, but existing cases can still generate additional skins. The finish sits at a low price level, while sustained demand and future price growth remain uncertain. When deciding whether to buy, sell or trade, compare matching versions and exteriors rather than relying on the overall price range alone.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case limits replenishment of unopened supply

• Low entry price keeps purchases accessible

• Distinct orange-red metallic finish

• Documented professional ownership

The investment rating is medium, reflecting low purchase costs and a retired case rather than demonstrated price growth. Professional ownership adds visibility, but it does not establish dependable buying demand. The main risk is that continued openings of existing cases and the skin's Mil-Spec Grade availability may limit appreciation.
