SG 553 | Gator Mesh

SG 553 | Gator Mesh is a CS2 rifle skin for the Terrorist side's scoped SG 553. Olive green, yellow-green, and charcoal patches combine with fine mesh markings across nearly the entire weapon. Its busy, camouflage-like appearance suits players who prefer earthy colors and textured finishes. All exterior grades are available, alongside Souvenir versions, but there is no StatTrak™ edition.

Description

The SG 553 | Gator Mesh gives the scoped Terrorist rifle a mottled Spray-Paint finish in CS2. The weapon itself provides a scoped option for longer-range engagements. Its green and charcoal palette creates a camouflage-like appearance without relying on a single solid color. Fine mesh markings overlap irregular patches, giving the surface a scale-like texture. The treatment extends beyond the receiver to the scope, magazine, grip, and stock. This broad coverage suits players who want the finish to define the rifle's overall appearance. Copies have been owned by professional players fer, SPUNJ, and Skadoodle. Buyers can compare exterior, float value, and standard or Souvenir versions when choosing a listing.

History and Origin

Gator Mesh was released on November 27, 2013, as part of The Mirage Collection. Its introduction accompanied the "DreamHack 2013" update. Valve created the finish rather than a community designer. Collection membership also connects the skin to trade-up contracts using Mirage items. The Souvenir version is associated with 15 packages. These include the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package. Today, existing copies can be bought on the Steam Community Market or obtained through player-to-player trades. Opening an eligible Souvenir Package offers another acquisition route, separate from buying a specific listed copy.

Finish Style

The Gator Mesh palette combines olive green, yellow-green, and dark charcoal across the rifle. Its Spray-Paint style comes from applying paint freehand through a mesh-fabric stencil. Irregular bands and blotches cover the receiver and handguard, avoiding a uniform block of color. The barrel, scope, and stock continue the same layered treatment. Both the curved magazine and pistol grip carry green and dark patches, keeping the lower components visually connected. Dark areas remain apparent around the handguard vents, scope lens, and openings in the stock. Fine mesh markings overlap the broader patches to create the finish's mottled, scale-like character. Nearly the entire weapon carries this busy pattern, making overall coverage a defining part of its appearance.

Float Value

SG 553 | Gator Mesh has a float range of 0.00 to 0.60. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, with none of those grades excluded. Souvenir versions are available, so version availability should be considered separately from exterior condition.

Rarity and Popularity

SG 553 | Gator Mesh has the Industrial Grade rarity designation. Its stated acquisition chance from The Mirage Collection is 3.21%, which should not be treated as an odds figure for every acquisition route. Documented ownership includes fer, SPUNJ, and Skadoodle, although professional ownership alone does not establish broad market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Earthy green and charcoal colors suit camouflage-focused loadouts

• Mesh markings give the rifle a distinctive, scale-like texture

• The pattern extends across nearly the entire weapon

• All exterior grades and Souvenir versions offer buying choices

Price Range

The live SG 553 | Gator Mesh price range is $11.00 to $75.00. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than a particular exterior or version. Compare each listing's float value and exterior alongside its standard or Souvenir status. Do not assume that the exterior label alone determines which copy costs more. When checking the CS2 skin price, compare matching versions before deciding which listing to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Souvenir Package

Open a Souvenir Package that contains SG 553 | Gator Mesh for a chance at its Souvenir version. The skin appears in 15 packages, including the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package. Opening a package does not guarantee this particular rifle skin.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A contract using 10 Consumer Grade skins from The Mirage Collection produces 1 Industrial Grade skin from that collection. Gator Mesh is a possible result, with selection random among the collection's Industrial Grade skins. Buying an existing copy offers more control over the exact item and exterior.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct route to buy SG 553 | Gator Mesh. Check the listing's exterior, float, and standard or Souvenir version before choosing a copy. This avoids the random item selection involved in package openings and trade-up contracts.

5. Trade with Other Players

SG 553 | Gator Mesh can also be obtained through player-to-player trades. Before exchanging items, confirm the exterior, float value, and version rather than relying on the finish name alone.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Future supply direction and resale demand remain uncertain, so the finish should not be treated as a predictable short-term flip. Professional ownership provides a supported visibility signal, but not proof of consistent trading activity. When planning to buy, sell, or trade, compare standard and Souvenir copies separately and check each item's float.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Valve-created finish from The Mirage Collection

• Documented ownership by fer, SPUNJ, and Skadoodle

• Souvenir availability across 15 packages

• Distinctive mesh-stenciled pattern across the rifle

The investment rating is medium, supported by documented professional ownership, a distinctive finish, and Souvenir availability. Those features provide reasons to consider a holding, but do not demonstrate price growth. The main risk is uncertain resale demand and supply direction, making returns difficult to forecast.
