SG 553 | Colony IV

SG 553 | Colony IV is a CS2 rifle skin for the Terrorist-side scoped weapon. Its yellow-orange artwork combines a skeletal red ant, dark gas-mask motifs and teal accents. The illustrated look suits players who prefer busy, colorful finishes over plain designs. It comes in every exterior from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, with StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions available.

Description

SG 553 | Colony IV gives the Terrorist-side scoped rifle a colorful, illustration-heavy appearance in CS2. Its skeletal insect motif and overlapping artwork create a design that rewards inspection across the weapon's different parts. Rather than relying on a single color block, Colony IV spreads its artwork across the receiver, stock and smaller components. The warm yellow-orange palette suits bright loadouts, while teal and black provide darker counterpoints. Players who enjoy detailed graphics may find its layered composition more appealing than a restrained finish. Regular, StatTrak and Souvenir options give buyers version choices alongside the available exterior grades. Individual listings are worth comparing by version, float value and the appearance shown in the item image.

History and Origin

SG 553 | Colony IV was released on November 18, 2019, during the Operation Shattered Web update. It arrived in the Shattered Web Case as part of that release. Steam Workshop community designer UpoR created the finish. The skin belongs to The Shattered Web Collection, which also provides its collection-based trade-up route. The Shattered Web Case no longer drops, although unopened cases remain available on the market. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. Existing cases can still be purchased and opened for a chance at Colony IV. Today, marketplace purchases, player trades and qualifying trade-up contracts offer acquisition routes beyond opening its original case.

Finish Style

Colony IV uses a Custom Paint Job with a dense illustrated layout rather than a simple solid-color treatment. The receiver and stock carry yellow-orange artwork broken up by red and black accents. A skeletal red ant stretches across the upper receiver, positioned above dark gas-mask shapes and tangled, flowing lines. The forward handguard shifts to dark teal and black, with small block-like markings. Yellow diagonal bars run along its lower edge, giving that section a striped accent. The magazine and pistol grip feature mottled dark artwork with yellow-orange and teal details. Yellow-orange touches also reach the scope and muzzle tip, while much of the exposed barrel stays dark. Overlapping illustrations and scratch-like marks make the overall finish visually busy, with details distributed across several weapon parts.

Float Value

SG 553 | Colony IV has a float range of 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, covering the full exterior lineup. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, with version choice separate from the copy's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

SG 553 | Colony IV is a Classified rifle skin in The Shattered Web Collection. Its chance from the Shattered Web Case is 1.07%, making case opening an uncertain acquisition route rather than a direct purchase. Professional players Skadoodle, tenzki and n0thing have owned the skin.

Why it’s Popular:

• Skeletal red ant gives the artwork a distinctive focal point

• Yellow-orange, teal and black suit colorful loadouts

• Layered illustrations extend across multiple weapon parts

• StatTrak and Souvenir options accommodate different collecting preferences

Price Range

The live SG 553 | Colony IV price range is $6.66 to $147.14. Available exteriors span Factory New through Battle-Scarred, so a CS2 skin price comparison should begin with the exact condition listed. Float value helps distinguish copies within an exterior rather than treating every listing in that tier as interchangeable. StatTrak and Souvenir versions should be compared separately from regular copies, without assuming identical pricing. Check the item image and current listing details before deciding where to buy, sell or trade this finish.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Shattered Web Case

The Shattered Web Case can still be bought on the market and opened, despite no longer dropping. Colony IV has a 1.07% chance from the case, so opening one does not ensure this particular result.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract using 10 Restricted skins from The Shattered Web Collection produces 1 Classified skin from that collection. Colony IV is a possible outcome, but the result is random among the collection's Classified skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy SG 553 | Colony IV on the Steam Community Market by selecting an available listing. Compare the listed exterior and version, and review the item's details before confirming the purchase.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades provide a way to exchange other items for Colony IV. Check the offered copy's float value, exterior and version before accepting, rather than evaluating it by the finish name alone.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The Shattered Web Case no longer drops, so its remaining supply shrinks as existing cases are opened, although those openings can still introduce skin copies. Professional ownership is a positive signal, but future demand and price trends remain uncertain. Compare available listings for regular, StatTrak and Souvenir copies before setting a buy or sell price.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case supply shrinks as existing cases are opened

• Distinctive skeletal ant artwork and contrasting colors

• Ownership by Skadoodle, tenzki and n0thing

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions broaden collecting options

The investment outlook is medium-to-good, based on retired case supply, professional ownership and a distinctive illustrated finish. Existing cases can still produce new copies, and uncertain demand is the main risk to resale value. This is an editorial assessment, not a promise of returns.
