About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Short Description

SG 553 | Cyrex is a CS2 rifle skin for the Terrorist-side SG 553. Its predominantly black finish combines white panels with sharp red accents across the receiver, magazine, and stock. The geometric design suits players who prefer a technical look and a coordinated black, white, and red loadout. All exterior tiers are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

SG 553 | Cyrex is a CS2 skin for the Terrorist-side SG 553 rifle. Its weapon provides a scoped option for long-range engagements. The Cyrex finish uses a Custom Paint Job with a black base, white panels, and red accents. A white stripe edged in red gives the upper receiver a clearly defined focal point. The magazine adds another visual anchor with separate white, black, and red sections. Its geometric styling suits players building a coordinated loadout with a technical visual theme. Professional players shox, NEO, and m0NESY have owned the finish. Buyers can compare its exterior, exact float, and standard, StatTrak™, or Souvenir version when choosing a copy.

History and Origin

SG 553 | Cyrex was released on May 26, 2015. Its debut accompanied the Operation Bloodhound update. It entered the game through the Falchion Case, which remains its case source. Nextgenz created the finish as a Steam Workshop community designer. The skin belongs to The Falchion Collection, a connection that also matters for eligible trade-up contracts. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Falchion Case drops. Existing Falchion Cases remain available on the market and can still be opened, so retirement did not remove that acquisition route. Current buyers can also obtain the skin through eligible trade-ups, the Steam Community Market, or trades with other players.

Finish Style

The Custom Paint Job gives Cyrex a technical appearance through sharp geometry and deliberate color separation. Most of the rifle is black, with broad white areas and narrow red accents interrupting the dark base. A long white stripe follows the upper receiver, with red edging that reinforces its straight profile. The black handguard carries thin red lines and small angular markings rather than a large central illustration. The magazine combines a white upper section, a diagonal black band, and a red lower section. The black grip ends in a red base, while the stock carries diagonal red accents and a larger patch near its lower rear edge. The barrel and scope remain mostly dark, although small red details appear on the scope. Broad color blocks establish the overall shape, while finer lines give the finish its moderately detailed character.

Float Value

The SG 553 | Cyrex float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior tier excluded. Standard, StatTrak™, and Souvenir versions are available; version availability is separate from the cosmetic condition represented by float and exterior.

Rarity and Popularity

SG 553 | Cyrex is a Classified rifle skin from The Falchion Collection. Its Falchion Case opening chance is 1.07%, with no guarantee that an individual opening will produce it. The skin remains obtainable through existing cases and eligible trade-ups, even though the Falchion Case no longer drops.

Why it’s Popular:

• Black, white, and red palette for coordinated loadouts

• Angular receiver and magazine detailing

• StatTrak™ and Souvenir options

• Documented ownership by professional players

Price Range

The live SG 553 | Cyrex price range is $3.51 to $84.70. That span covers the skin as a whole, not a fixed pair of exterior or version categories. Exterior and exact float help distinguish listings, so compare individual copies rather than relying only on the wear label. Standard, StatTrak™, and Souvenir versions should be checked separately when assessing the CS2 skin price. A listing's images and item details help confirm whether its visual condition and version match the intended purchase.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Falchion Case

Open a Falchion Case for a chance at SG 553 | Cyrex. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. The skin's opening chance is 1.07%, so this route cannot secure a specific copy.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A trade-up contract can use 10 Restricted skins from The Falchion Collection to produce 1 Classified skin from that collection. SG 553 | Cyrex is a possible result, not a guaranteed outcome. The result is random among the collection's Classified skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy a listed SG 553 | Cyrex directly on the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a random result. Check the exterior and version, and inspect item details where available before committing to a purchase.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading provides another way to acquire the finish by exchanging items with another owner. Confirm the agreed item, exterior, float, and version before accepting, especially when comparing otherwise similar-looking copies.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The Falchion Case's retired drop status limits its case supply, while professional ownership gives Cyrex documented visibility. That ownership does not establish current trading volume, and the available market evidence does not demonstrate a price trend. Before deciding to buy, sell, or trade, compare matching versions and inspect exact floats rather than treating every listing as equivalent.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Falchion Case no longer receives new drops

• Documented professional ownership

• Distinct black, white, and red styling

• Standard, StatTrak™, and Souvenir collecting options

The investment rating is medium, supported by retired case drops, professional ownership, and a choice of collectible versions. The main supply risk is that existing cases and eligible trade-ups can still produce additional copies. Without clear price-history or trading-volume evidence, future resale performance remains uncertain.
