AUG | Spalted Wood

The AUG | Spalted Wood is a CS2 rifle skin for the Counter-Terrorist side, featuring a dried-wood Hydrographic finish. Brown, tan and muted gray patterns cover the body, contrasting with the dark scope and barrel. Its earthy palette suits players building understated or wood-themed loadouts. It comes in every exterior from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, with standard and Souvenir versions available.

Description

The AUG | Spalted Wood gives the scoped Counter-Terrorist rifle a densely patterned, natural-looking finish in CS2. Its Hydrographic treatment recreates dried wood rather than using bright graphics or a uniform color. Irregular dark lines and wavy streaks give the receiver, stock and grips their distinctive appearance. A golden-tan magazine adds a separate textured detail beneath the wood-patterned body. The AUG itself combines accuracy, low spread and a high firing rate with a lengthy reload. This finish suits players who prefer earthy colors while keeping the weapon's dark mechanical parts visually distinct. Standard and Souvenir copies offer different ownership options within the same named finish. Buyers can compare the exact float value, exterior and version to find a listing that matches their preferred appearance and collecting interests.

History and Origin

The skin was released on September 21, 2021, with the Operation Riptide update. It belongs to The 2021 Dust 2 Collection. Valve created the finish, rather than a community designer. Its Souvenir availability provides an additional acquisition route through Dust II packages. The finish can be obtained from 6 Souvenir packages. Examples include the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and the Antwerp 2022 Dust II Souvenir Package. Today, buyers can obtain existing copies through marketplace purchases or trades with other players. Trade Up Contracts provide another route, using Consumer Grade skins from the same collection as inputs rather than purchasing a finished copy directly.

Finish Style

The Hydrographic finish recreates the irregular grain and markings of dried wood across much of the AUG's body. Brown, tan and muted gray tones form the base palette, giving the patterned surfaces an earthy appearance. The receiver, stock, pistol grip and vertical foregrip all carry this densely detailed treatment. Thin dark lines weave through the pattern alongside uneven, wavy streaks. Darker patches interrupt the lighter areas, adding variation across the body without introducing bright accent colors. The magazine is golden tan, with a raised rectangular grid and a darker section at its base. The barrel, muzzle, scope and upper mechanical parts remain mostly dark gray or black, providing plainer surfaces beside the wood effect. Lighter edge highlights help distinguish those mechanical details from the surrounding dark parts and patterned body.

Float Value

The AUG | Spalted Wood has a float range of 0.00 to 0.48. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so none of those exterior categories is missing. Souvenir versions are available, but there is no StatTrak™ version; version availability is separate from a copy's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The AUG | Spalted Wood has the Industrial Grade rarity designation within The 2021 Dust 2 Collection. Its stated collection chance is 4.0%, or about 1 in 25 collection outcomes. Documented professional owners include Snax, s1mple and TaZ, although their ownership does not establish the scale of wider market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Earthy colors suit understated Counter-Terrorist loadouts

• Detailed wood grain contrasts with the dark scope and barrel

• All exterior categories offer a range of condition choices

• Souvenir versions add a separate collecting option

Price Range

The live AUG | Spalted Wood price range is $0.53 to $5.50. These bounds cover the whole finish, rather than fixed prices for particular exteriors or versions. Individual CS2 skin listings should be compared by exterior, exact float value and whether the copy is standard or Souvenir. It is a low-cost skin, but the listing details still matter when selecting a copy to buy. Inspection images provide an additional check that the visible finish matches the buyer's preferred appearance.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Souvenir Package

Open a compatible Dust II Souvenir package for a chance to obtain this finish. It appears in 6 packages, including the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and the Antwerp 2022 Dust II Souvenir Package. Opening a package does not allow the buyer to select Spalted Wood as the result.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can use 10 Consumer Grade skins from The 2021 Dust 2 Collection to produce 1 Industrial Grade skin from that collection. Spalted Wood is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Industrial Grade skins. This route offers a chance at the finish rather than the certainty of buying an existing copy.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing AUG | Spalted Wood directly through the Steam Community Market. Compare the listed exterior and version, then check the individual float and appearance where available before selecting a copy.

5. Trade with Other Players

The finish can also be acquired through a trade with another player. Confirm the exact item, exterior, float and standard or Souvenir status before accepting, especially when comparing several copies of the same finish.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Standard and Souvenir copies provide different listing options, but available market evidence does not establish sales volume, a price trend or current supply growth. Professional ownership offers some evidence of use, not proof of broad resale demand. Players looking to buy, sell or trade should compare like-for-like versions and exteriors rather than treating every copy as interchangeable.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Souvenir versions offer a separate collecting angle

• Professional ownership includes Snax, s1mple and TaZ

• Distinctive wood styling suits themed loadouts

• Collection identity connects the finish to Operation Riptide

The editorial investment rating is medium, reflecting its low entry price, Souvenir availability and documented professional ownership. These features support collecting appeal, but a sustained price trend and current supply direction remain uncertain. The main risk is unproven resale demand, so a modest purchase cost should not be mistaken for predictable returns.
