MAG-7 | Sonar

The MAG-7 | Sonar is a Counter-Terrorist shotgun skin in CS2 with turquoise stenciling over dark gray and muted olive surfaces. Its restrained design suits players who prefer cool accents without covering the entire weapon in bright color. It comes in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn, with standard, StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions available.

Description

The MAG-7 | Sonar brings a subdued, patterned finish to the Counter-Terrorist-exclusive shotgun in CS2. The weapon combines strong close-range damage with magazine-style reloads, giving the skin a place in a tactical shotgun loadout. Turquoise markings provide its main visual accent, contrasting with the receiver's dark gray and olive base. The look suits players who want visible detail while keeping most of the weapon's surface understated. Its Anodized Multicolored finish classification describes the finish style, separately from its rarity and exterior condition. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir options give buyers different versions to consider without changing the identity of the Sonar finish. Individual listings should be checked for exterior and exact float value rather than judged by the item name alone. The receiver and grip carry much of the decoration, making those areas useful reference points when inspecting a particular copy.

History and Origin

MAG-7 | Sonar debuted on November 28, 2016, alongside the Glove Case. Its release was part of the Glove Case Skins update. Meddy, a Steam Workshop community designer, created the finish. The skin belongs to The Glove Collection, which identifies its collection origin alongside its case association. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, so the Glove Case no longer drops. Existing Glove Cases can still be bought on the market and opened for a chance at the skin. Players seeking a specific copy today can buy it on the Steam Community Market or arrange a trade with another player.

Finish Style

Sonar uses an Anodized Multicolored finish with lightly applied turquoise stenciling rather than broad, solid turquoise coverage. Dark gray and muted olive form the receiver's base, keeping the brighter markings visually distinct. Thin turquoise vertical lines repeat across the receiver, creating a regular pattern along its sides. The pistol grip carries patchier turquoise markings, giving that section a less uniform appearance. The upper rail and rectangular side panels remain mostly plain olive-gray, leaving spaces between the decorated areas. A mottled gray barrel sits alongside a dark gray fore-end, extending the subdued palette toward the front. Bright silver and pale turquoise areas appear on the trigger guard and the front of the grip. Most of the detail stays concentrated on the receiver and grip, which gives the overall design its restrained character.

Float Value

The MAG-7 | Sonar has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.45, setting the condition range buyers can inspect. It is available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist; these version labels should be checked separately from the exterior and exact float.

Rarity and Popularity

MAG-7 | Sonar belongs to the Mil-Spec Grade rarity tier, which is separate from its cosmetic condition. Its drop chance from the Glove Case is 11.42%, so opening the case does not guarantee this particular finish. Documented owners include professional players adreN, tarik and mixwell, although ownership alone does not establish market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Turquoise stenciling adds color without overwhelming the dark base

• Restrained olive-gray surfaces suit understated loadouts

• Receiver lines and patchier grip markings provide distinct visual details

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions offer different ownership options

Price Range

The live MAG-7 | Sonar CS2 skin price range is $0.30 to $18.00. Exterior and exact float value are useful comparison points because the item name alone does not describe an individual copy's condition. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir listings should be checked separately rather than assumed to share a price. Use the live range as a whole-skin reference, not as a fixed quote for any specific exterior or version. Before deciding to buy, sell or trade, compare the chosen listing with others that match its condition and version details.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Glove Case

Open a Glove Case for a chance to receive MAG-7 | Sonar; this skin's drop chance is 11.42%. The case no longer drops, so this route depends on existing cases bought on the market or already owned. Opening a case does not let the buyer select a particular exterior or guarantee Sonar.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing copy on the Steam Community Market to choose a listed skin rather than receive a random case result. Check the exterior, float and version on the chosen listing, especially when comparing standard, StatTrak and Souvenir copies.

4. Trade with Other Players

MAG-7 | Sonar can be obtained by trading with other players instead of opening its case. Confirm the offered item's exterior, exact float and version before agreeing, and inspect its appearance rather than relying solely on the finish name.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Opening existing cases reduces the remaining Glove Case supply, but it can also bring additional Sonar copies into circulation. A discontinued case does not by itself establish strong resale demand or a reliable price trend. For trading decisions, compare available versions by exterior and float, without assuming that different version labels imply identical pricing or resale prospects.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Glove Case supply receives no new drops

• Documented ownership by adreN, tarik and mixwell

• StatTrak and Souvenir options broaden collecting choices

• Distinctive turquoise stenciling on a restrained palette

The editorial investment rating is medium: retired case supply and documented professional ownership offer support, but neither establishes a sustained rise in value. Its relatively low price level makes it accessible as a play skin rather than proving investment upside. The main risk is that existing case openings keep adding copies while future buyer demand remains uncertain.
