Short Description

MAG-7 | Praetorian is a CS2 skin for the Counter-Terrorist shotgun, combining dark metallic panels with pale gray-green accents. Gold edging and deep red details suit players who prefer angular, understated weapon finishes. Factory New through Well-Worn exteriors are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

MAG-7 | Praetorian gives the Counter-Terrorist MAG-7 a Gunsmith finish built around metallic contrast. The weapon sits in the Heavy category and is designed for close-range engagements. Its magazine-style reloads complement that close-range role. On the skin, a dark receiver anchors a palette of muted green, red, silver-gray, and gold. The large foregrip provides a clear color break rather than relying on oversized artwork. That restrained layout suits metallic loadouts and players who prefer geometric detail to visible lettering. Professional owners include kennyS, Boombl4, and Kvem, although ownership alone does not establish trading demand. Buyers can compare exterior, exact float value, and regular, StatTrak, or Souvenir listings before choosing a copy.

History and Origin

Praetorian was released in CS:GO on February 17, 2016, with the Operation Wildfire update. Its launch case was the Operation Wildfire Case, linking the finish to that release. Steam Workshop community designer coyote37 created the skin. It belongs to The Wildfire Collection, which also determines its collection-based trade-up route. Historic case inclusion should not be confused with current case drop availability. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Operation Wildfire Case no longer drops. Existing cases can still be bought and opened, so case opening remains an acquisition route despite the retirement. Today, players can also buy an existing skin, trade with another player, or attempt a qualifying Trade Up Contract.

Finish Style

The Gunsmith finish uses metallic surfaces as the foundation of its visual identity. The receiver is predominantly black and dark metallic gray, with deep red panels bordering its lower edge. A pale gray-green foregrip adds contrast, including a fine-textured rectangular inset on its side. The barrel stays dark and metallic, maintaining the restrained upper profile. Silver-gray covers the pistol grip's front face, while its sides remain black and its magazine base is pale gray-green. Thin gold-colored edging marks the upper rail, with smaller gold accents on fittings, the trigger area, and grip details. Subtle geometric textures keep the design angular without large illustrations or visible lettering. Together, the separated color blocks give the shotgun a structured appearance rather than an all-over decorative pattern.

Float Value

The float value of MAG-7 | Praetorian ranges from 0.00 to 0.45. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn. StatTrak and Souvenir versions exist, while exterior and float describe the copy's cosmetic condition rather than its version.

Rarity and Popularity

MAG-7 | Praetorian belongs to the Restricted rarity grade. It has a 3.2% chance per Operation Wildfire Case opening, about 1 in 31 case results. This grade also makes it a possible Restricted result from Wildfire Collection trade-ups, rather than a guaranteed contract outcome.

Why it’s Popular:

• Dark metallic receiver with restrained red and gold accents

• Textured gray-green foregrip adds a distinct color contrast

• StatTrak and Souvenir options for different collecting preferences

• Angular styling without large artwork or visible lettering

Price Range

The live MAG-7 | Praetorian price range is $1.40 to $90.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. Compare Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn listings separately, then check the exact float within the chosen exterior. Regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies should also be distinguished rather than treated as interchangeable offers. To buy, sell, or trade, use current listing details and images instead of assuming that an exterior label fixes the CS2 skin price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Operation Wildfire Case

Open the Operation Wildfire Case for a 3.2% chance of receiving Praetorian. Although the case no longer drops, existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract using 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Wildfire Collection produces 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Praetorian is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Restricted skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy MAG-7 | Praetorian through a listing on the Steam Community Market. Check the exterior, exact float, and version to select a specific copy instead of accepting a random case or contract result.

5. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player to obtain an existing copy of Praetorian. Inspect the offered exterior, float, and version before accepting, and distinguish regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies when comparing the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retirement of the Operation Wildfire Case limits new case supply, but existing openings and collection trade-ups can still add Praetorian skins. Professional ownership provides visibility, while the available pricing evidence does not establish sustained demand or a reliable price trend. Compare each exterior and version separately when buying, selling, or trading, rather than assuming that every copy has the same market appeal.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case with no new case drops

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinct metallic styling with gold and red accents

• StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

MAG-7 | Praetorian earns a medium investment rating, balancing retired case supply, documented professional ownership, and accessible pricing. The main risk is uncertain demand: existing openings and trade-ups can increase skin supply, while sustained price growth is not established.
