About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Quality identifies the skin's exterior condition, which is tied to float value. Petroglyph ranges from 0.00 to 0.44 and comes in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn.

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity is a skin's grade and relates to its acquisition odds. Petroglyph is Restricted, with a stated 3.2% chance from the Gamma 2 Case; an opening does not guarantee it.

How much does MAG-7 | Petroglyph cost?

MAG-7 | Petroglyph ranges from $0.89 to $7.41. The bounds cover the whole skin; compare individual listings by exterior, float, and version.

What exteriors are available for MAG-7 | Petroglyph?

MAG-7 | Petroglyph comes in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn. Its float range is 0.00 to 0.44, and there is no Battle-Scarred exterior.

Which case contains MAG-7 | Petroglyph?

MAG-7 | Petroglyph is available from the Gamma 2 Case. That case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought and opened.

Does MAG-7 | Petroglyph have StatTrak and Souvenir versions?

Yes, MAG-7 | Petroglyph has both StatTrak and Souvenir versions. Check the version label separately from the exterior and float when comparing listings.

Short Description

MAG-7 | Petroglyph is a CS2 shotgun skin for the Counter-Terrorist-exclusive MAG-7, a weapon in the Heavy category. Its dark gray finish combines muted red and cream geometric artwork with a rough, stone-like appearance. The design suits players who prefer earthy colors and detailed patterns, with Factory New through Well-Worn exteriors and both StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions available.

Description

MAG-7 | Petroglyph brings rock-carving-inspired artwork to a close-range Counter-Terrorist shotgun in CS2. Its Custom Paint Job uses geometric decoration rather than a plain color treatment. Muted red and cream markings stand against a dark gray receiver, giving the weapon a restrained but detailed appearance. The patterned body contrasts with the simpler grip and foregrip, keeping the artwork concentrated on the receiver. Underneath the finish, the MAG-7 retains its magazine-style reloads and close-range role. This look suits players building a loadout around subdued colors, angular designs, or stone-inspired textures. Buyers can choose between regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir versions according to their collecting preferences. When comparing copies, the exterior, exact float value, and version provide useful distinctions beyond the shared Petroglyph design.

History and Origin

MAG-7 | Petroglyph was released on August 18, 2016, alongside the Gamma 2 Case. It entered CS:GO through the update titled "Gamma 2 Case Skins". Steam Workshop community designer PTP created the finish, establishing its community-designed origin. The skin belongs to The Gamma 2 Collection, which also provides its trade-up connection. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Gamma 2 Case no longer drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, so retirement did not remove the case-opening route. Trade Up Contracts offer another current route through eligible Mil-Spec Grade skins from the same collection. Buyers can also acquire an existing copy through marketplace listings or player trades rather than pursuing a random result.

Finish Style

The Custom Paint Job creates the visual impression of markings carved into a rough stone surface. Dark gray forms the receiver's base, while muted red and cream supply the decorative contrast. Rows of nested triangles, angular blocks, and zigzag borders extend along the receiver's sides. Small cream stick figures and symbol-like marks sit among those geometric shapes. The barrel and foregrip are mostly gray, broken up by pale patches and narrow red accents. The pistol grip stays mostly plain gray, giving the detailed receiver a quieter neighboring surface. The magazine follows that simpler treatment, with a red-and-cream triangular band near its base. Together, the rough-looking texture and uneven distribution of artwork give the shotgun a carved, stone-inspired visual character.

Float Value

MAG-7 | Petroglyph has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.44. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn, with no Battle-Scarred exterior. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are available, but those version labels are separate from the exterior condition and exact float.

Rarity and Popularity

MAG-7 | Petroglyph has the Restricted rarity grade. Its stated chance of appearing from the Gamma 2 Case is 3.2%, making case openings a random acquisition route rather than a direct purchase. Documented owners include s1mple, byali, and tarik, although professional ownership alone does not establish broad market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Stone-inspired texture gives the shotgun a distinctive visual theme

• Muted red and cream patterns contrast with dark gray surfaces

• Geometric borders and small figures reward a closer look

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions offer different collecting options

Price Range

The live MAG-7 | Petroglyph price range is $0.89 to $7.41. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn provide different condition options within its supported float range. Compare regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies separately rather than assuming their listings are interchangeable. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, check each listing's exact float, exterior, and version before deciding which copy to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Gamma 2 Case

Open the Gamma 2 Case for a chance to obtain MAG-7 | Petroglyph, with a stated skin drop chance of 3.2%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases remain available to buy and open, without guaranteeing this result.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can exchange 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Gamma 2 Collection for 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Petroglyph is a possible outcome, but the result is random among the collection's Restricted skins, so the inputs do not guarantee it.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing MAG-7 | Petroglyph through a Steam Community Market listing to choose the skin directly instead of opening a case. Check the offered exterior and version carefully, and confirm that the listing matches the copy being sought.

5. Trade with Other Players

MAG-7 | Petroglyph can also be acquired by trading with another player who owns a copy. Before accepting, inspect the item and confirm its exterior, float value, and version rather than relying only on the finish name.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Gamma 2 Case retirement limits case supply, but existing openings and trade-up contracts can still produce additional Petroglyph copies. Its modest price level and documented professional ownership provide context, while broad demand and price trends remain uncertain. Compare available versions by exterior and exact float before choosing a copy to buy, sell, or trade.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired Gamma 2 Case supply receives no new drops

• Documented ownership by s1mple, byali, and tarik

• Distinctive stone-inspired artwork with geometric detailing

• StatTrak and Souvenir options support different collecting preferences

The editorial investment rating is medium, supported by retired case supply, distinctive artwork, and documented professional ownership. The modest price level does not establish future growth, and wider demand remains uncertain. Continued case openings and trade-ups can add copies, creating a supply risk without any promise of returns.
